Les Nouvelles is not your average e-commerce destination. Yes, you can shop tons of adorable pieces by Camilla and Marc, Gryphon, Lover, and more, but you can do so much more. The style notes are super helpful, but my favorite part is playing your own stylist. There's a naked mannequin waiting for you to dress her up. I just created a super stylish outfit, now it's your turn!

We're big time proponents of lady-like dressing because, as much as we like the tough-girl look that's sweeping the fashion scene, deep-down we don't love leaving the house feeling like we're dressed up as a man/vampire. After reading about Chloe Sevigny's men's line in girl sizes on Fashionologie, and checking out the Spring 09 Lover collection on Refinery 29, we feel like the more feminine side of our current fashion climate is peaking out from the behind the curtain...there couldn't be a better time to write about Dagmar Spring 2009. Ladylike, fashion forward, casual, and cool this collection has us at hello in the W29 showroom. This Spring 09 season featured knits and nudes fit for a ballerina and some more structured pieces to keep things tidy. We don't need garlands in our hair and slips under our skirts but we don't always want to dress like it's the apocalypse--after all, we have a new president now. In case you haven't noticed, we've been kind of obsessed with the Fall 08 look books this week--you see, after all of the Spring 09 shows, it's the only thing that has us excited about the current season again. A lot of people think look books are boring, and the Lover Fall 08 look book is certainly done in a style that can only be called "traditional", but we think it's a great chance to just see the clothing as it is--sometimes without even a runway to influence your opinion. Lover, this season, designed quite a few pieces that make it worth the extra money. A sweatshirt cum minidress, a gauzy black dress, a pair of leather just-perfect-for-hosiery shorts (left) were on our favorites list at first glance. Lover, to us, always does better with the warm weather clothing and although we really like this collection we don't think we'll ever get over their famed Spring 07 collection that showed all of that high waisted denim we'd never forget about.
