Making a major entrance in a caped velvet Naeem Khan gown, the Goodwill Ambassador's gold ornamentation and deep burgundy tone definitely put us in the spirit. Later, the singer took the stage and gave us a chill in Michael Kors's silver embroidered gown and icy Lorraine Schwartz jewels. The dresses, while very different, had us thinking forward to our holiday party looks and feeling very inspired. 'Tis definitely the season, Katy!
Between the opulent gold embroidery on Connie Britton's Naeem Khan gown and her matching Cathy Waterman jewels, we got the feeling that the cast of Downton Abbey would approve of her vintage-inspired red carpet look. Everything down to her Stuart Weitzman clutch swirled with gold and emerald embellishments in a way that recalled an era of glamour that is usually only reserved for Jay Gatsby himself.

Naeem Khan is launching bridal this October, and the announcement cast a wide shadow over the rest of his Spring 2014 collection, where lacy gowns were de rigueur. Aside from the finale wedding dress, presented dramatically with veil and bouquet, there was lots of lace and feminine hues that ranged from blush pink to rose red (with the actual blooms embroidered on many a piece). It was a ladylike dresser's dream — we spotted more than one gown practically begging for some quality time with Kate Middleton. See the pretty looks we fell for by clicking through here.
Frida Kahlo may have inspired the hair and designs at Naeem Khan Spring 2014, but not in the literal sense. Lead makeup artist James Boehmer for Nars interpreted the look into a raspberry lip hue and metallic-flecked eye makeup. The pout was a layered look that started with Hyde Park Satin Lip Pencil ($25) in just the center. Boehmer then applied loose powder to the outer edges of the lip before adding a layer of Yu Satin Lip Pencil ($25). The finished look was a lip with blurred edges.
The hair was a play on Frida Kahlo's famous milkmaid braids. The roots were slicked back using Sally Hershberger Plump Up ($13). Lead stylist Sally Hershberger added extensions to thicken the braids, and they were mussed before hitting the runway to give the style a two-textured feel. To complement all the red shades in the collection, lead manicurist Michelle Saunders gave the models a crimson manicure with Essie A List ($8).
The 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards provided the perfect "excuse" for a little Sunday night glamour, especially where Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood were concerned. Both singers chose floor-length creations for the occasion, but that's where the similarities ended. Swift sparkled in a gold formfitting Dolce & Gabbana number, which also featured a bejeweled art deco-inspired neckline and a sexy low back. Underwood stuck to her red carpet MO with a bright floral-print strapless gown by Naeem Khan, coral chandelier earrings, and a black clutch. While they go head-to-head for female vocalist of the year and album of the year at this year's ceremony, we're leaving it to you to decide who earned best-dressed status.
Emmy Rossum is having a pretty stylish run this week. First she gave us an adorable Rebecca Taylor look while singing the national anthem in New York. Then she went ultra ladylike in a fit-and-flare dress by Temperley London for a Broadway premiere. And just last night, she channeled her inner flapper girl in a fringed, metallic Naeem Khan dress at an NYC charity event. Click on to see all her stylish looks right here! For the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards festivities, Nina Dobrev took on the black-and-white trend in a Naeem Khan gown that featured the two-toned bold print and a sexy open-back detail. The Vampire Diaries actress completed her look with a black-and-silver envelope clutch and triangle drop earrings. Do you love her red-carpet ensemble?Vote on all of our Oscar polls here!

The Berlin International Film Festival kicked off earlier this month — yes, there is life outside of Fashion Week — and we're catching you up on all the glamour straight from the red carpet abroad. Amanda Seyfried stepped out for the premiere of her film Lovelace in an apropos blue lace Elie Saab gown; Charlize Theron glowed in a strapless Gucci gown at the Cinema For Peace gala; and Anne Hathaway exuded a darker kind of evening elegance in her Chanel Couture pick at the Les Misérables premiere. And that's only the beginning. For more stunning Berlin ensembles, courtesy of Emma Stone and Rooney Mara, keep clicking.
Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana, had front-row seats to the Naeem Khan show during New York Fashion Week today. The couple cheered in their seats as the looks went down the runway and clapped as the designer took his bow. Matt and Luciana also attended Naeem Khan's presentation together last year.
Matt is back home on the East Coast following a trip to Berlin, where he promoted Promised Land at the Berlin Film Festival. He attended a press conference and hit the red carpet for the movie, which he wrote and starred in with John Krasinski. Matt's overseas stay wasn't just about work, though, since he also met up with pal George Clooney for dinner.
