The 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards provided the perfect "excuse" for a little Sunday night glamour, especially where Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood were concerned. Both singers chose floor-length creations for the occasion, but that's where the similarities ended. Swift sparkled in a gold formfitting Dolce & Gabbana number, which also featured a bejeweled art deco-inspired neckline and a sexy low back. Underwood stuck to her red carpet MO with a bright floral-print strapless gown by Naeem Khan, coral chandelier earrings, and a black clutch. While they go head-to-head for female vocalist of the year and album of the year at this year's ceremony, we're leaving it to you to decide who earned best-dressed status.

Every Red-Carpet Moment From the Berlin Film Festival So Far
The Berlin International Film Festival kicked off earlier this month — yes, there is life outside of Fashion Week — and we're catching you up on all the glamour straight from the red carpet abroad. Amanda Seyfried stepped out for the premiere of her film Lovelace in an apropos blue lace Elie Saab gown; Charlize Theron glowed in a strapless Gucci gown at the Cinema For Peace gala; and Anne Hathaway exuded a darker kind of evening elegance in her Chanel Couture pick at the Les Misérables premiere. Matt Damon Does NYFW in the Front Row With Luciana
Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana, had front-row seats to the Naeem Khan show during New York Fashion Week today. The couple cheered in their seats as the looks went down the runway and clapped as the designer took his bow. Matt and Luciana also attended Naeem Khan's presentation together last year.
Matt is back home on the East Coast following a trip to Berlin, where he promoted Promised Land at the Berlin Film Festival. He attended a press conference and hit the red carpet for the movie, which he wrote and starred in with John Krasinski. Matt's overseas stay wasn't just about work, though, since he also met up with pal George Clooney for dinner.
Naeem Khan's Fall '13 Gowns Were Made For Hollywood Royalty
If you've ever dreamed of winning an Oscar, Naeem Khan's Fall 2013 probably has the dress to complete your fantasy. Rich with opulent details, but modern sex appeal — like stunning open backs — Naeem draws from the illustrations of 1920's Êrte and the all-out grandeur of the Byzantine empire, crafting gowns fit truly for red-carpet royalty. It's a collection that again proves some designers may own the contemporary market, but Khan's domain is the jaw-dropping kind of wear. He delivers both shimmering confections — long-sleeved gowns covered in sequins with sexy open backs (that would make any bombshell happy) — but also silhouettes with more regal elegance. Not any less showstopping, but these dresses are done up with high collars, keyhole necklines, and the most intricate all-over prints and embellishments. Click through to live out your red-carpet fantasies with our favorite gowns from Fall 2013.
Golden Globe Awards: Nicole Richie
Nicole Richie veered away from her usual darker fare on the Golden Globes red carpet, slipping into something periwinkle-hued instead. Her floor-length embroidered Naeem Khan gown fit her like a glove, and while it certainly proved a more modest choice, the Fashion Star judge's formfitting silhouette still injected some serious sex appeal. Her blue eyeliner, slick Old Hollywood waves, and chain-tasseled black clutch rounded out her feminine ensemble with just a hint of edge and polish. What do you think of Nicole's red-carpet choice?

All together, a stunning collection that received a much-deserved standing ovation from the audience for the beloved designer.

Trend Alert: Come on Baby, Do the (French) Twist
What do stars like Katy Perry, Amber Heard, and Rihanna have in common? They're all fans of a no-fail, classic coiffure: the French twist. And they're not alone in their updo choices. At Fall 2012 New York Fashion Week, several designers, including Naeem Khan, Thakoon, Rachel Comey, and Lela Rose, all featured the elegant look in their collections. Each version was gorgeous, and thanks to the talented hands of the stylists who created them, had its own unique spin.
At Naeem Khan (upper left) and Rachel Comey (lower left), flirty eyeliner played well with these twists. But for the former, Bumble and bumble's Laurent Philippon opted for a "slouchy" style, making sure the tousled look wasn't too "hairdresser-y," and for the latter, models' looks were similar, but finished with a more polished touch. As for Thakoon (upper right), Kérastase's Odile Gilbert looked to Audrey Hepburn for inspiration, creating a style that incorporated faux bangs in the front. And at Lela Rose (bottom right), celebrity stylist Ted Gibson also toyed around with fringe-line detailing, forming an eye-catching roll off to the side. What's not to love? So come on little miss . . . and do the twist.
