I love seeing red on the Oscars red carpet. And I'm not alone: Nicole Kidman, Uma Thurman, and Kate Winslet have all arrived in past years with a little fire in their eyes . . . and on their dresses. Catherine Zeta-Jones likes wearing red so much, she's a double-offender — her crimson years were 1999 and 2004. Perhaps we'll have a new lady in red come next Sunday, but in the meantime, let's look to the past for inspiration, kicking it off with Lucy Liu looking Fab in Versace.
Oscars Fashion Round Up!
We did so much fabulous Oscars fashion coverage that we don't want you to miss any of it so here is a round up of the looks, trends and polls that we covered all last week!
How Much Does A Winning Oscar's Look Cost?
Ever wonder how much moolah goes into those perfectly perfect Oscars red carpet looks? I do. Check out this informative article that was in USA Today that tapped into my curiosity. Linda Wells, the editor in chief of Allure magazine, provided the inside scoop into the exorbitant costs of looking red carpet fantastic.
My favorite bit was about makeup artist Scott Barnes: "whose client list includes Celine Dion, Kimora Lee Simmons, Christina Aguilera and Lopez, charges in excess of $15,000, including travel, for the big day." $15,000 to get your make up done? Are you paying attention aspiring make up artists?
You all know my favorite Sunday night was Ms. Emily Blunt; her Calvin Klein gown spoke for itself and then all she needed was pretty, minimal jewelry and beauty to top off her look. How much do you want to bet her red carpet look was WAY less expensive than Jennifer Lopez's over the top choice. I'm just saying, it pays to look this good but some people maybe choose to pay a little too much.

Size Matters: Isla Fisher
After seeing The Wedding Crashers, I instantly fell in love with Isla Fisher. I thought she was so adorable in that movie, her accent, her killer hair and fab figure, but her red carpet appearance last night was not one of my favorites. I just can't seem to get her ill fitting gown out of my head. While I love this dress, the cut and the color, she looks like she is popping out in all the wrong places. Although people like to say size doesn't matter, in this case, it does. Miss Fisher is a beautiful woman, but she looks like a stuffed sausage in this dress, just moments away from having a Tara Reid busting out red carpet moment. Isla, you would have been close to a ten if this dress only fit you! Better luck next time.

The Oscars Gowns Runway vs. Red Carpet
While you can view the plethora of gorgeous gowns from last night right here on FabSugar, we found something really cool where you can view the gowns from last night vs. how they originally appeared on the runway in a side-by-side with last night's red carpet. Take Kirsten Dunst's Chanel Haute Couture gown - I think it looked better on the catwalk than on Kirsten (sorry love!). These were created via in the The Fashion Spot forums and click here to check them out!

Oscars Red Carpet Trend: Strapless Gowns
Skin was in on the Oscars red carpet this year. Strapless can be difficult to pull off: a fit that's even a little too tight can cause bulges in the wrong places, which can make you appear heavier than you really are (ahem, Isla) but all in all I'd say these ladies pulled the trend off in style.

Oscars Red Carpet Trend: The Blue Belles of the Ball
Shades of blue made a big splash on the Oscars red carpet last night. Since blue is such a hot color for Spring, it is no wonder these ladies debuted it. It was nice to see that the ladies took a break from black! Blue makes much more of a statement while still remaining glamorous. I loved Maggie Gyllenhaal's navy dress with black sequin accents and Portia de Rossi couldn't have looked more beautiful in her blue backless stunner. Melissa Etheridge even made a statement with a dark navy pantsuit! Nice work ladies, I loved all your blue hues.

Oscars Red Carpet: Leonardo DiCaprio
Ok, Ok, so I know there is not much that is controversial about Leo's black tux, but I love Leo, so I had to post him! What do you guys think?

Oscars Red Carpet: Isla Fisher
I think this Monique Lhuillier emerald green satin dress looks amazing next to Isla Fisher's hair, but I am a little nervous she may be falling out of it by the end of the night! What do you think?
