The holidays are just around the corner and we're on the hunt for festive party alternatives, which is why we love the plaid Juicy Couture pants ($140, originally $198) Kristen Stewart sported at the Variety Studio in LA. The actress went low-key working her regal bottoms with a white burnout tee, leather monk-strap shoes, and au natural locks. Style Kristen's printed pants with this red silk Alexander Wang cami ($136, originally $195) and a black blazer for the office party or go bold in this gold sequin Unique top ($200) and suede cobalt pumps.
Kristen Stewart's new style confidence has spread from the red carpet to her more casual wares. While we're used to seeing the actress in Converse sneakers and jeans for her more laid-back appearances, the actress opted for a slicker look at the Variety Studio in LA yesterday. For a seasonally cool look, Kristen wore plaid Juicy Couture trousers paired with a white tee by A.L.C. and leather brogues. The results? A look that's simultaneously slick, effortless, and perfect for Winter. For those in colder temps, simply layer a thick black knit on top and finish with a beanie. Oh, and did we mention her pants are on sale for $70? Shop them below now!
Gwen Stefani and her family visited the pumpkin patch in LA over the weekend, but a little bit of dirt didn't stop the stylish mama from looking fabulous as usual. She wore skinny plaid pants with gray suede booties on bottom and a black tie-neck blouse up top. Tortoise cat-eye sunglasses, a few gold jewels, and this L.A.M.B. Tolman bag ($228, originally $425) completed her polished daytime look. Whether or not you're headed to the pumpkin patch, re-create Gwen's latest look by pairing up a pair of plaid pants with a feminine bow blouse and chunky suede booties. Leave it to Gwen Stefani to create the perfect glam-grunge look while out and about in Beverly Hills: plaid harem pants with Givenchy caged booties ($1,019, originally $1,699), and a cool fedora. The blond rocker paired her statement pants and sexy booties with a white ribbed tank, then upped the funky factor with a leopard belt and tortoise aviators. A black nylon tote, red cord necklace, and matching signature lip completed her unique street style. Channel Gwen's mad for plaid look with baggy checkered pants, a simple white tank, black caged booties, and a fedora for a lunch date with the girls or swap the tank with this black lace Mango top ($70) to turn heads at night.
Minnie Driver grabbed lunch at Chateau Marmont in LA wearing cropped plaid pants, a black racerback tank, and slingback espadrilles. Her trousers can just as easily work for an office environment, but we love that she chose to wear them in a more laid-back way. Inspired by Minnie, take your work pants to the weekend by pairing them with casual pieces like a racerback tank and wedge sandals or a loose-fitting tee and flat sandals. If your pant legs are long, roll them up like Minnie did to give off an even more kick-back vibe. Shop similar pieces below to get Minnie's work-turned-weekend look.
I've long been searching for the perfect plaid pant. A while back, Ashley Olsen wore this gorgeous blackwatch navy and green plaid coat that inspired me. A recent hunt yielded this A.L.C. Plaid Tux Pant ($298, originally $425). It's gorgeous, all right, but the price is killer. Luckily, I also found another plaid pant that can work for the preppy chic look I'm seeking.

The mad plaider is coming but fear not, plaid doesn't have to look '90s grungy (unless you want it to). Take these Thakoon Mao Pants ($595), for example. Refined, tailored, and perfect for those chilly Fall days, but at half a grand, I think it's better that I save that money for my heating bill . . .
