While running errands in NYC, Katie Holmes swapped her leather pants and Isabel Marant bow pumps for a cozy-chic style that's perfect for Fall. In lieu of a jacket, the actress worked a few layered knits — gray White + Warren poncho and ribbed red long-sleeve — with distressed denim and black motorcycle boots. Re-create Katie's low-key look by pairing a red, long-sleeved top and thick gray knit with distressed jeans and black moto boots. Just remember to choose a fitted bottom layer to keep your bundled outfit from looking bulky.

I have — I've been wearing my gray and white alpaca knit poncho from Peru left and right. They're all over stores now, and I also peeped a ton on the Spring '10 runways. There's a style for every girl: country cozy, city sleek, and Mexicana. This decadent cream confection from Chloe's show is my inspiration piece. It's like a beautiful baby blanket, ultra luxe, ultra cozy.

I love sequins, yes, but this Sophie Hulme Sequin Poncho ($880) makes me believe that there is such a thing as sequin overload. The designer has fused two opposites — sequins and ponchos — but I don't think it's wearable in real life. It seems too high maintenance, too flashy. What do you think?
