"This season we decided to go towards a surrealist vision that evoked a combination of the sailing scenes from the movie Gilda and a bit of Fellini, with a little bit of 1980s thrown in for good measure," Bittar explains. Bald-headed models cavort with paper bears, slick-skinned mannequins lounge in outer space, and a sculptural collection of wood and neon jewelry keeps everyone looking totally glamorous all the while.

Inspired by ancient rulers' historic penchant for turquoise — and its supposed protective properties — Borgo turned to the legendary gemstone, adding it to tribal shapes such as anchor pendants, spike necklaces, and arrow medallions. “I’d wanted to work with turquoise for a long time,” he explained. “Resort gave me an opportunity to rethink the classics.” Here's a peek at the entire tropical adventure-ready collection, now available for pre-order on Moda Operandi.
