Ode to Paris Fashion Week — A Little Lady-Like Je Ne Sais Quoi

With Paris Fashion Week off and running, we've put together a lady-like ensemble inspired by the City of Love.

With Paris Fashion Week off and running, we've put together a lady-like ensemble inspired by the City of Love. Tailored pieces, like this textural gray skirt by RM By Roland Mouret, paired with a floaty sheer skirt from See by Chloe, create a refined look. For extra polish: decadent two-toned booties from Balenciaga, along with a navy handbag and modern accessories from Lanvin. We think Carla and Kim would approve . . .

Roland Mouret Buys Back Name After Five Years

>> Roland Mouret has bought his trademark back from his former investors and is readying his first flagship in London's Mayfair for February or March.

>> Roland Mouret has bought his trademark back from his former investors and is readying his first flagship in London's Mayfair for February or March. Mouret split from his backers Sharai and Andre Meyers in October 2005 over strategic differences — the Meyerses have owned 100 percent of the Roland Mouret name since. He then formed a 50-50 venture, 19RM, with British impresario Simon Fuller in September 2006, showing under the name RM by Roland Mouret. Mouret bought his name back from the Meyerses for an undisclosed sum.

“It took time — but I am really happy. And I am so proud that I continued working — even without my name,” Mouret said. "When Simon and I started together, we made a plan. I wanted to get my name back in a natural way, and I didn’t want to get into any legal battles. Simon has allowed me to develop a business while ensuring I always had enough space and resources to follow my intuition and establish the company.”

Trend Alert: Hip Action

Diane Kruger may have played a supporting role at the Genie Awards, but she takes top fashion precedence in our eyes.

Diane Kruger may have played a supporting role at the Genie Awards, but she takes top fashion precedence in our eyes. The stunner showed us some hip action in her RM by by Roland Mouret dress. This slight, one-sided hip detail is a refreshing update to last season's parallel hip pouf. Pair it with some dainty heels to get that perfect exaggerated hip swish when you walk. Swish, swish . . .

Simon Fuller Leaves 19 Entertainment; Roland Mouret, Victoria Beckham, and Storm Models Could Be Affected by Company Buyout

>> Two months ago, Simon Fuller, the founder of 19 Entertainment, which owns controlling stakes in Storm Models, Victoria Beckham Collection, and RM by Roland Mouret, announced that he was leaving the company to start a new company pursuing film and other entertainment projects.

>> Two months ago, Simon Fuller, the founder of 19 Entertainment, which owns controlling stakes in Storm Models, Victoria Beckham Collection, and RM by Roland Mouret, announced that he was leaving the company to start a new company pursuing film and other entertainment projects. He is currently retained as a consultant at 19 Entertainment.

For the past year or so, rumors have surrounded Fuller.  Last June, it was announced he was teaming with Topshop's Sir Phillip Green for a global entertainment company; soon after, word came that Kate Moss might somehow be involved. Then, in November, Fuller was rumored to be pairing with Victoria Beckham for a New York-based modeling agency, which Beckham then denied.

But yesterday came news that 19 Entertainment's owner CKX (Fuller sold to CKX in 2005) is discussing the sale of 19 Entertainment to One Equity Partners, the private equity arm of JPMorgan Chase.  Without Fuller and with a potential new owner, there's no confirmation on what the buyout might mean for Storm Models, Victoria Beckham Collection, and RM by Roland Mouret.

A pair of black hoops, rock 'n' roll bracelets, and patent Brian Atwood peep-toes complete her fresh 'fit.

Roland Mouret to Launch Menswear Collection

Riding high on the success of his RM by Roland Mouret collection of dresses, Roland Mouret will launch a 15-piece menswear line of tailored suits and separates in his Paris showroom this January.

Riding high on the success of his RM by Roland Mouret collection of dresses, Roland Mouret will launch a 15-piece menswear line of tailored suits and separates in his Paris showroom this January.

Knowing his happy female followers will be the best brand ambassadors, Mouret will place the collection with stores already selling his womenswear. As he explained to WWD, the lineup is really about dressing himself:

“There is a moment in my life that I didn’t find at all what I really wanted to wear. It may be pretentious, but I wanted to have texture, the right shoulder line, I wanted to find a suit where I don’t feel like a business man inside it.”

But don't expect to see Mouret on the runway for the upcoming menswear collection shows, “I don’t want to do catwalk because as much as I like women on the catwalk, I don’t like men,” Mouret said. “Women walk, men just don’t get it.”
