Ruffles have been gracing more than the edges of red carpet gowns of late, adding a touch of fancy to the home on pillows, bedding, and shower curtains. For instance, this Martha Stewart Ruffle Throw ($40) would bring a subtle element of femininity to even the most dapper sofa.
I happen to be a sucker for anything with a wavy ripple, especially when it's not over the top. Here are some of my favorite less-is-more ruffled home décor pieces.
West Elm just introduced this new Knit Ruffle Bolster ($34), a knit cotton pillow cover with a delicate fringed ruffle trim. I think it's adorable, and I love pearl and deep purple palette; très Chanel, n'est-ce pas? But the thing is, it doesn't seem very West Elm! It's much more feminine than most of their products.
