Hart of Dixie's Costume Designer Talks Season 2 Style!

With fashionable shows like Hart of Dixie and Gossip Girl on her résumé, it's easy to see why costume designer Meredith Markworth Pollack is one of the most sought-after stylists in Hollywood.

With fashionable shows like Hart of Dixie and Gossip Girl on her résumé, it's easy to see why costume designer Meredith Markworth Pollack is one of the most sought-after stylists in Hollywood. We got to know Meredith and her thriving career earlier this year and recently had the chance to chat with her about Hart of Dixie's season two style. We may pride ourselves on finding the exact pieces on both Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie here at CS, but we wanted to know the inspiration behind each chic ensemble. Find out what Meredith told us about the leading ladies' evolving style, must-have pieces to nail Zoe's look, and changes from last season's style.

CelebStyle: How has Zoe Hart's style changed since she has become a Blue Bell native?
Meredith Markworth Pollack: We're softening up Zoe's style just ever so slightly, adding some more color and relaxed silhouettes. Zoe is still ordering her clothes online and having them shipped in to Blue Bell, so no pastel frocks any time soon, but I think the quirkiness and colorful vibe of the town is definitely starting to have an influence on her.

CS: Should we expect to see a change in Lemon's prim and proper style now that she is a single, self-relying woman?
MMP: Lemon's look has progressed into a more contemporary direction and less vintage. She's becoming more of a woman of the 21st century now that she is single and thinking about her career and future. Expect to see more professional looks from her, but by no means is she giving up her florals and pastels.

Learn how to nail Zoe's city-chic style and more after the jump.

Brad Goreski on Jessica Alba's Colored-Denim Obsession and More!

Celebrity stylist Brad Goreski's famous clients include Jessica Alba, Rashida Jones, Demi Moore, Christina Ricci, Minka Kelly, and Shay Mitchell.

Celebrity stylist Brad Goreski's famous clients include Jessica Alba, Rashida Jones, Demi Moore, Christina Ricci, Minka Kelly, and Shay Mitchell. The dapper fellow is currently on a nationwide tour with eBay as part of the Selling Style Studio, and we got a chance to catch up with him on his LA stop. We chatted everything from Jessica Alba's colored-denim obsession — "I can’t take credit for all of the looks" — to what pieces you need to buy to get her look to his styling techniques. Get the full scoop below!

CS: What is your approach to dressing clients and does it differ according to the person?
BG: It does, absolutely. Me and my assistants pull specifically for each client, and it’s all curated toward a direction that I think they should go in. If we’ve been doing a lot of ladylike looks, maybe it’s time to try something a little more minimal or something that’s Far East-inspired or gypsy look or something bohemian. We always try to come in with a plan and a vision.

CS: And how involved are the clients with this process?
BG: It’s always collaborative. I think you want to bring things to your clients that you know that they’ll like and also bring things that you’re trying to push them in a certain direction. And it’s my job as the stylist to do that. I think if I’m just bringing things that they would normally gravitate to, I’m not really doing my job.

Hart of Dixie Returns — Get to Know the Show's Talented Costume Designer

Hart of Dixie, returning with more episodes on April 9, is one of the most fashionable shows on TV right now.

Hart of Dixie, returning with more episodes on April 9, is one of the most fashionable shows on TV right now. Between Rachel Bilson's character's fab designer duds and Jaime King's prim and proper frocks, it's one to draw major inspiration from. So who's behind all of those insanely adorable onscreen clothes? Costume designer Meredith Markworth Pollack, who's also worked on Gossip Girl. We got a chance to chat with the talented stylist all about her start, how she got involved with the show, what she does on set, and the characters' styles.

CelebStyle: When did you start styling and what inspired you about the profession?
Meredith Markworth Pollack: I was introduced to the world of costume design when I moved to New York in 2003. The first film I worked on was in the wardrobe department of The Notorious Bettie Page. I knew right away that I wanted to pursue a career in designing for film and TV. I loved the history, the research, and the character study that went into each look. It was a great combination of my love and intrigue for both film and fashion. I then went on to assist Eric Daman and ended up working on Gossip Girl with him, which then led me to Hart of Dixie.

CS: How did you get involved with Hart of Dixie?
MMP: I designed a couple pilots for Fake Empire, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage's production company, that didn't get picked up. When Hart of Dixie got the green light, they asked me to design it. I was thrilled. I loved the premise, and of course, was a fan of Rachel.

CS: Is there a funny anecdote you can share about your styling experience on the show?
MMP: I'd say the look on Rachel's face when she came in to the fitting room and saw the red Southern Belle dress that she had to wear for Hell's Belle's was pretty priceless. She hadn't read the script yet and there was a definite WTF? moment. I got a good laugh out of that one.
