I always mark the middle of Summer with Miami Swim. This year's standouts included the always awesome Mara Hoffman, Trina Turk's debut collection, and White Sands Australia's forward cuts and pretty prints; here is the designer with a bevy of models, whisk me off to the Great Barrier Reef already! Celeb attendees included Selena Gomez, the Kardashian sisters, and Hilary Rhoda. Aquatic ambiance, poolside fun, and extreme sizzle within.
Trina Turk Kicks Off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami

Models clad in colorful Trina Turk beachwear hit the runway in Miami yesterday for the designer's 2011 fashion show, marking the start of Fashion Week Swim in Miami. This was the first time showing at Miami's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim for the LA-based Turk, who was named "Mercedes-Benz Presents" designer for the event. Presenting to a full house at the Raleigh, Trina Turk brought her unique brand of West Coast glamour to South Beach in a lineup that was largely inspired by Hollywood's jaunts to Acapulco in the '60s and '70s (think bright headscarves and iridescent tunics). Oversize jewelry (better to stand up to the designer's bold prints) and gold hardware set off the colorful kaftans, tropical printed bikinis, netted cover-ups, cute printed beach bags, and some gigantic straw sun hats. See the complete runway show in the gallery below.

Balenciaga, Michael Kors, and More are Hamptons-Bound For the Summer

Balenciaga is entering the summer retail scene in the Hamptons with a new store on East Hampton's Main Street, taking over a former Brooks Brothers shop. Michael Kors is also headed out east with a 1,050-square-foot Southampton outpost, offering designer collection, Kors Michael Kors, and Michael Michael Kors lines. And on the contemporary side of things, Trina Turk has popped up once again in East Hampton, at 79 Main Street, which opened last Friday.
Melrose Place Style: Sydney Andrews
In the eighth episode of the season, the ghost of Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton) shows up at the cemetery to see David (Shaun Sipos). Although a bit dark and morbid, she does looks great post-murder! Her black keyhole dress is similar to this one by Trina Turk, and she adds some black sunglasses and high heels for a cemetery-appropriate look. Shop it all now.

Casa Shops: Adelante and Curb Service
Whenever I visit friends in Austin, I try to drop by Adelante, a hip, laid-back women's clothing and lifestyle boutique. The shop, which has been in Austin since 1992, and called San Antonio home before that, is a family-owned boutique that offers everything from shoes, dresses, and jewelry to home accessories and vintage, refurbished furniture.
The owner, Tricia Roberts, has a great eye for fashionable, affordable finds, and I always find some must-have item when I stop by.
Now, Adelante has started Curb Service, a mobile shopping adventure that's fit into a retrofitted 1976 Airstream. Available for rent for private parties, showers, or other special events, this adorable trailer was once Tricia's husband's hunting getaway. To see how it's been transformed, read more
Nice and New: Trina Turk Outdoor Fabrics for Schumacher
Back in October, I let you know about Trina Turk's foray into interiors with a collection of home furnishings and an outdoor upholstery fabric line. Well, her collection of California-inspired indoor/outdoor printed fabrics is here.
The line features signature patterns from her apparel collections as well as many inspired by the SoCal architecture, landscape, and lifestyle. Her bright, breezy colorways are ideal for outdoor Summer décor, including watery blues, citrus shades, and earth tones. My favorite is the Fronds Print, which has a leafy, decidedly graphic look. Her Trellis Print is a must have for those of you with a thing for Hollywood Regency style. And the Sunglass Print has a vintage, Jackie O. look that just makes me laugh. Check out the other prints and colorways when you read more
Celebrity Style: Molly Sims
A handful of stylish celebs attended the 13th Annual Webby Awards in NYC last night, but Molly Sims stole the carpet. She went all out in a sequined Notte by Marchesa dress from the Fall '09 collection and tan Christian Louboutin peep-toes. To add further sparkle to her look, Molly decked her neck out in faceted black beaded necklaces. There's just enough shine and color in her ensemble to stand out without looking tacky.

Trina Turk Handpicks Clinique Faves For Her Free Makeup Bag!
Trina Turk's a perennial fashion fave of mine — her fresh style always reminds me of Summer and the beach, no matter what season it is in my reality. Thankfully, temperatures are rising, and this flowery bag reminds me of those blossoms I enjoy outside (after slathering on the sunscreen, of course).

The chic makeup bag comes packed with goodies ($65 value) and is free with any $25 Clinique purchase at Nordstrom. Best part? Not only did Trina make this one-of-a-kind bag for the brand, but she also handpicked seven items to fill it up — including Take the Day Off Makeup Remover and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, two of my favorites, too! Act fast since it's only around while supplies last.
Celebrity Style: Alexa Chung
Alexa Chung hit the Paris fashion circuit looking casually sexy at the Louis Vuitton show. The European stylista wore a long navy cardigan, black hose, and standout Luxotica-inspired Louis Vuitton platform sandals. A dainty star necklace and silver ring complete her perfectly messy ensemble.

March Shopping Madness! Slumdog Fashion Heiress
The world's been smitten by it, and soon enough fashion will follow suit. Oscar best picture winner Slumdog Millionaire showed the many tumultuous lives that exist in the slums of India. But ultimately, hope reigned. Like the visually arresting film, Indian-inspired clothes are vivid, exotic, provocative. When I think of India I think of saris, coin jewelry, tunics, and otherworldly beauties like Freida Pinto. Channel your inner slumdog fashion heiress with, at the very least, a dancing yellow scarf.
