Not quite a V-neck, yet not quite a button-down, tunics are the perfect marriage between the two. With a refreshing summertime silhouette, tunics are your best bet when you're looking for a top that will take you from the beach to the bar (and, occasionally, the boardroom). This season, brands like Free People, J.Crew, and Anthropologie are offering versions that are affordable and sure to garner you a compliment or two.

Why We Covet: It will certainly be the prettiest piece in your closet, but it could also be the most versatile. Wear it now with skinny jeans and nude sandals during the day, with leather pants and tough jewelry on cool nights, and with opaque tights and a big sweater next fall. If you want to show off stems, you could potentially wear this as a minidress, although we might suggest a pair of tap shorts to cover your assets when you sit down. No matter how you wear this lace tunic, it's so pretty, and so delicate, you're sure to get lots of admirers.

I like to cover myself during Savasana with a flowy cardigan; it's nice being wrapped up and warm while in the meditative pose. My cardigan also doubles as a cute way to cover up after class, which is essential in the cooler weather. With Spring just around the corner, ditch that down jacket and get yourself a draped top to wear after class. Long and flowy, it will pair perfectly with your yoga capris or leggings.

Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington sat front row at Ralph Lauren and witnessed the Fall throwback to the '90s: long, floral print dresses, romantic peasant sleeves, and a return to classic menswear. The runway featured layers of blazers and waistcoats over a variety of heavy fabrics and Fall's must-have accessory: lace fingerless gloves.
Charlotte Ronson's 2010 collection was girlie and free-flowing with a bohemian desert-motif. Pleated silk skirts, fringed scarves and khaki tunics were accompanied by headscarves and knee-high riding boots. Here are some of FabTV's favorite looks!

Congrats to balamoda!
This season's tunics have inspired me both on and off the beach. Great for throwing over a pair of jeans or capris when on a school run, they are also the perfect cover-up over when heading for the water.
Little Joule, the children's and baby line to come out of British outdoor clothing company Joules, has designed this adorable rose-print kaftan ($23) that would perfectly suit my Summer needs – if only it came in grown-up sizes. The company's entire line of girls and boys beachwear is made up of classic pieces with a twist that will keep tots comfortable and well-dressed wherever they spend the warm weather days.
I'm so excited and I just can't hide it. I nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw this Ethnic Print Cotton Tunic, size small. I immediately envisioned myself wearing it over leggings now and over my bikini during summertime. But, I probably don't need another tunic, so I'm giving it up to you. I suggest you snatch it.
