  • Tavi Gevinson has accused Seventeen magazine of plagiarizing the Ask a Grown Man videos she publishes on her website Rookie. Gevinson says the magazine's Ask an A-Lister video series "is the first time that I've felt that something I've done, or Rookie has done, has been copied." [Racked]

  • Natasha Poly stars on the cover of Vogue Russia's August 2012 issue. Some have criticized the cover because it appears part of the model's arm is missing. A Photoshop mishap, perhaps? [The Huffington Post]

  • Glamour apologized for accidentally publishing an old picture of model Daul Kim, who committed suicide in 2009, in its August issue. "We had no idea about the backstory, and are heartbroken to learn this news," said the magazine's editor in chief Cindi Leive. [Fashionista]

  • Steven Klein shot the campaign for Lady Gaga's new fragrance, Fame, in which the singer reclines naked with a small army of small men crawling over her skin. [Fashion Etc]

Christy Turlington's Style Secrets, Choupette's Imaginary Twitter Musings, and Visionaire's Brazilian Issue

Those stories and more in our daily news roundup.

Those stories and more in our daily news roundup.

  • Christy Turlington's style has gotten a lot simpler since her days on the catwalk. "I used to attempt to keep up with everything going on in the fashion world, but it was never my nature to do so," she said. "My style motto is less is more." [CelebStyle]

  • Lanvin has launched a mobile version of its ecommerce site that's compatible with iPhone and iPad. Now those midday urges to buy a Lanvin minaudière, like the one above, can be settled between text messages. [WWD]

  • Adriana Lima, Gisele Bundchen, and Lea T will make appearances in the upcoming Brazil-themed issue of Visionaire. The 62nd edition of the quarterly fashion publication will also feature 3D images photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, Solve Sundsbo, and Eli Sudbrack, among others. [Made in Brazil]

  • Karl Lagerfeld's famously pampered kitten Choupette is the subject of a new parody Twitter account. @ChoupettesDiary recounts the fictional quotidian details and musings of the kitten who really does have two maids. Example: "Tonight's Plan: meow mercilessly until Daddy forks over $80,000 so I can attend the SJP, Anna Wintour, Obama dinner." [@ChoupettesDiary]

  • Paul Smith — or Sir Paul Smith, depending on which side of the Atlantic you're on — explained that the secret to his success has been to not focus on success: "Keep your feet on the ground, understand your trade, live within your means, and grow carefully," the designer said. [Oki-Ni]

  • Ann Mashburn (wife of noted Atlanta menswear retailer Sid Mashburn) said her wedding dress — created by designer, not politician, David Cameron — was "absolutely perfect." So perfect, in fact, that she "just couldn't bear to take it off." Said Mashburn, "Sid fell asleep on the eve of our wedding waiting for me to change out of it." [Racked]

Fab Read: A Tribute to Lee Alexander McQueen by Visionaire 58 Spirit

Alexander McQueen's passing inspired Alexander McQueen: Genius of a Generation, and now it's the catalyst for an even bigger tribute by Visionaire Magazine.

Alexander McQueen's passing inspired Alexander McQueen: Genius of a Generation, and now it's the catalyst for an even bigger tribute by Visionaire Magazine. Visionaire 58 Spirit: A Tribute to Lee Alexander McQueen ($295) doesn't come cheap, but it's a compilation that will live on in history. Per editors Cecilia Dean, Stephen Gan, and James Kaliardos, McQueen visited their SoHo offices in 2003 to discuss a collaboration on an issue that never happened. This is their special tribute to him.

Titled "Spirit," the 58th issue of Visionaire promises to be a collectable. Dedicated to the late Alexander McQueen, artists including Nick Knight, Lady Gaga, Steven Klein, Mario Sorrenti, Steven Meisel, Inez van Lamsweerde, and Vinoodh Matadin have contributed content to the tome. Packaged in a hard case designed by the McQueen studio and wrapped in metallic brocade from the spring 2010 Plato's Atlantis collection, Visionaire #58 will be sold in a limited edition of 1,500 this June for $295. Furthermore, the paper stock is loose leaf sprinkled with wild flower seeds that, when planted with water, grow poppies and snap dragons for your very own McQueen-inspired garden.

“In 2003, McQueen came to our SoHo office and gallery to discuss collaborating on an issue of Visionaire…an issue that never came to be. This is our tribute to him,” said Stephen Gan, Cecilia Dean and James Kaliardos of Visionaire in a statement.

Francisco Costa Pushes the Idea of Resort 2010 with Sheer Dresses for Calvin Klein

>> Francisco Costa was busy playing host Monday night at Calvin Klein's joint party with Visionaire, but today he sent out the label's diaphanous Cruise 2010 collection, without a bikini or caftan in sight.

>> Francisco Costa was busy playing host Monday night at Calvin Klein's joint party with Visionaire, but today he sent out the label's diaphanous Cruise 2010 collection, without a bikini or caftan in sight. The resort season has been noticeably growing in scope this time around, and though Cathy Horyn was a fan of Costa's semi-sheer fabrics, WWD cautioned:

A long-standing argument against such [formal runway] presentations for resort is that inevitably, some designers will crossover to the too-editorial side . . . Francisco Costa went too far with the clothes in a season endlessly touted as all about dressing for reality — nearly every piece was transparent . . . almost everything needed an underpinning, and anyone wanting to know what Calvin Klein resort will look like in the stores needs a trip to the showroom.

Girls on Film: Let There Be Light, V Magazine

January is arguably one of the toughest months of the year. The holidays have fizzled, wallets are depleted, and attitudes are shaky. When I viewed this editorial in Visonaire's Spring Preview 2009, it was a momentary escape. I love when editorials mix media and Nick Knight is indeed a mixmaster. Lily Donaldson is lovely as an ethereal, artsy creator who floats by on painted pieces of cardboard. Need a pick-me-up? Slide on . . .

On Our Radar: Marc Jacobs for Visionaire

Marc Jacobs fans will for sure be all over his latest project like white on rice.

Marc Jacobs fans will for sure be all over his latest project like white on rice. Mister Marc guest-edited the latest edition of Visionaire, the fashion-forward quarterly collector's book that is legendary among insiders.

Together with fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Marc produced a series of portraits of contemporary icons, including Drew Barrymore, Selma Blair, Lil' Kim, Scarlett Johansson, supermodel Stephanie Seymour, Gisele Bundchen, and designers Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney. The pictures are featured in the 192-page 52nd installment, which bows October 1 for $375.

The price may seem steep, but the book comes in a limited-edition Louis Vuitton gold Monogram Miroir case, which sounds pretty rad...
