Earlier this month, Selena Gomez stepped out in a stunning sequin Roberto Cavalli minidress at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, and once again the actress proved she's not one to shy away from sparkles. While in Cannes, Selena worked a sequin Alice + Olivia blouse with distressed skinny jeans for a casual-slash-dressy feel. While her top is dazzling, pay special attention to her white Casadei pumps. We love that Selena chose a contrasting white shoe instead of, say, a basic black. It really elevated her look to more modern heights. To achieve Selena's casual, sparkling style in your city, pair a similar sequined top with distressed skinny jeans and white pumps, or step it up a notch with leather pants for a hot date-night look.
There's a new shoe trend strutting all over Hollywood and beyond — just look down at the feet of celebrities, and chances are you'll notice white. From pointy white pumps to chunky platforms to strappy sandals, stars like Freida Pinto, Jessica Alba, and Sarah Jessica Parker are taken by white-hot footwear these days. Want to see who else has gotten in on the trend? Step right on in. Then be sure to shop our favorite white shoes to get in on this fabulous Spring trend.
There really is only one season you can wear white, on the feet that is. In the Fall or Winter, white sandals just don't feel right. As always, you can prove me wrong. But you have to admit Heidi Montag's white Chanel flats are mighty cute, admittedly, so is the rest of her sleek outfit. Heidi knows how it feels to be so fresh and so clean; you may also recall the dope white Jimmy Choos she wore to the MTV Movie Awards. Enough about Heidi, white sandals provide a blank canvas for just about any look. It's so easy.
Here's what she has on:
- Dress: Jones New York
- Shoes: Franco Sarto
- Gold Hoops: Unknown

Naturally, we are seeing shoes of the Blanc de Blanc persuasion, what with the weather warming and all. This includes both white and off white options. While I'm a puritan who says go white or go home, sometimes white is too stark, too bright, too cheesy. Christina Ricci made it just right by balancing her moody Bill Blass floral dress with a pair of light ivory Manolos. As well, white might have been too bold against the red carpet — things only the keenest of stylists thinks of. Take a cue, or two, from this Blanc de Blanc beauty.
