California’s Napa Valley is an ideal spot for a Summer getaway — with wine tasting, delicious food, beautiful scenery, and luxurious hotels and spas, what more could you ask for in a vacation? But all that luxury does typically come at a steep price — unless you know where to look. By skipping the typical tourist spots and spending your wine country getaway somewhere off the beaten path, like the quiet, picturesque town of Calistoga, you’d be surprised by how much fun you can afford.
It's hard for a young, new drinker — who knows nothing about it — to get into tasting wine. There are thousands of different types of wine and a special vocabulary to discuss it, not to mention how many wineries are pretentious, snobby, and rude to uninformed tasters. Luckily there are hip, fabulous wineries like Roshambo — my new favorite winery — that cater to this once overlooked demographic. Roshambo was founded on the "simple idea that serious wines became, well, a little too serious." Recently I had the chance to check out Roshambo's tasting room in Sonoma. I was recently reminiscing about a little (romantic) escape I once made to the wine country. If you haven't yet had a chance to take a taxi, or limo, around a wine country to taste all the delightful vino out there I recommend doing so. It's such a delight!
I started you off with this Urban Outfitters Striped Floral Scarf, on sale for $15 (originally $28), because it reminded me of a 1994 Chateau Petrus Grand Vin Bordeaux I once had. AND, it's very Balenciaga Fall '07.
