Michelle Dockery Could Not Be Wearing More Gold Right Now

They say you should dress for the job you want, but what about dressing for the Hollywood award season trophy you want? Michelle Dockery did just that on Thursday, when she appeared at a luncheon sponsored by LoveGold. Dockery's formfitting black-and-gold dress made her look like a living trophy. She even accented the outfit with a pair of gold earrings and a gold ring from David Yurman, plus a pair of black pumps decorated with a band of gold metal across the toe.

Maybe with the Golden Globes coming on this weekend, Dockery is employing a little magical thinking. After all, her show Downton Abbey is nominated for best TV drama, and she and the rest of the cast are up against some pretty serious competition. But if she visualizes herself holding the statue — nay, if she becomes the statue — then maybe that dream will come true, right?

Layers of gold went into this outfit. There is, of course, the black-and-gold dress.

And then these gold earrings.

Dockery also wore a gold ring. There was definitely a theme here.

Just for safe measure, Dockery wore a pair of shoes with a little gold on them, too.
