9 Ways to Refresh Your Summer Style, Courtesy of the Panama Hat

Having a bad hair day? Toss on a hat. Arming yourself against potential downpours? Toss on a hat. Missing that certain je ne sais quoi? Toss on a hat. It seems so simple, but is anything in the fashion realm ever simple?

As a fashion editor, you're expected to always know the latest trends, which colors are going to be hot next season, and how to handle any and every sartorial challenge — but I have a small confession to make. I was on my way out this morning when my new two-tone panama hat caught my eye. "What a great addition to my look," I thought. I reached for the topper and slid it on. What should have been an effortless boost to my otherwise strategically assembled ensemble, however, quickly turned into a battle of wills trying to figure out exactly how one styles a panama hat.

I immediately tossed my bag on my bed — clearly I'd be a tad bit late to work today — and started to google, because a matter of this gravity could not be ignored. In my mind, panama hats are synonymous with Miranda Kerr, so I looked to the street style ace for inspiration.

Long story short, I rocked my panama hat over loosely tousled waves and could not have been more proud of my sartorial triumph. In hopes that you never have to face such adversity, I've rounded up nine inspirational yet attainable ways to style your panama hat.Source: Instagram user mandinvilla
