Meet Kristin: Sponsored Guest Blogger and Reebok Fan!

The sport of fitness has arrived, and so has the sport of fashion.

The sport of fitness has arrived, and so has the sport of fashion. It seems that the sport of CrossFit has been popping up everywhere lately. Along with it, so has Reebok's new line of training shoes and workout-ready gear. I recently got my first pair of Reebok RealFlex Fusion TR shoes, designed to let your feet move in a natural way during training.

As a fitness professional who teaches multiple classes a day, I'm very picky about training shoes. These shoes do exactly what they claim to do with the lightweight, flexible design. They're very comfortable, which is key with workout shoes. The technology of the flex nodes allow for natural multidirectional movement.

The combination of the lightweight feel, along with the flexible support, is perfect for high-intensity classes and a variety of movement. I've been wearing them for step classes, BOSU classes, HIIT workouts, and even for weight training. They are currently on the top of my list for cross-training shoes, although I did just customize my own design for a new pair of CrossFit Nano 2.0 shoes. I can't wait to get my hands on those.

In the Sport of Fitness, you must be prepared for the unknown and the unknowable.

In the Sport of Fitness, you must be prepared for the unknown and the unknowable. "A key element to a fair test of fitness is the unknown. . . . Athletes can't train for what they don't know." (Source: CrossFit.) This is the philosophy of the CrossFit Games and a typical WOD (workout of the day) at your CrossFit local box.

Yes. I love it. I embrace it. But, what do I wear?!

Meet Courtney: Guest Blogger and Reebok Fan!

My name is Courtney and I'm the author behind the blog Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life.

My name is Courtney and I'm the author behind the blog Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life. I'm a 28-year-old personal trainer and former elementary school teacher. I live up in Upstate, NY, with my husband and high school sweetheart, Jay, and have lived here all of my life. When I'm not training, you'll most likely find me blogging, in the kitchen, or spending time with some of my favorite friends and family.

This past May, I was presented with the opportunity to visit the Reebok World Headquarters in Canton, MA, and my entire experience there was incredible. The Reebok team members were so friendly and super knowledgeable of their products, the Cross Fit WOD and cardio dance class were insanely awesome, and the generous goodies we received while visiting was pretty much the icing on the cake.

Are Toning Shoes For You?

Clockwise from top left: MBT Fora ($170), Aetrex Bodyworks Toning Lace-up ($139), Avia IBurn ($40), New Balance WW1442 Rock & Tone ($68), Sketchers Shape Ups SRR ($70), Reebok EasyTone Flash ($100)
It all started with MBT, then Sketchers introduced the Shape-ups, and after that, I feel like I lost count of all the toning shoes being introduced to the fitness world. When the American Council on Exercise (ACE) investigated the fitness claims associated with these types of shoes, they found that "none of the toning shoes showed statistically significant increases in either exercise response or muscle activation." While some people love them; others feel they are just another pair of sneaks. Have you tried out a pair of these toning shoes pictured below? What was your experience?

Eva Mendes is literally following in the footsteps of Helena Christensen. Earlier this week, Reebok introduced Eva as the new face (and body) of its EasyTone ad campaign. In a joint press release, the actress said, "I feel better when I’m in good shape, and that’s what I like about Reebok EasyTone — it gives me a little extra as I go about my daily activities."

Ashlee, Anna, and Rosario Make Toning Look Easy

Reebok had some star power on hand to debut its newest line of fitness footwear and apparel this week, including its latest EasyTone offerings.

Reebok had some star power on hand to debut its newest line of fitness footwear and apparel this week, including its latest EasyTone offerings. Young Hollywood starlets Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Anna Kendrick, Rosario Dawson, Emmy Rossum, and Lindsay Price showed off the latest gear and worked out with celeb trainer Yumi Lee at a private residence in Los Angeles. At the event, Ashlee told E! that she used Reebok EasyTone shoes to lose the 50 pounds she gained while pregnant with baby Bronx.

"When I wanted to get back into shape, I worked out and these shoes are amazing because you can really feel them in your booty. But I also worked out and ate healthy."

While I am a little skeptical of the toning powers of EasyTone sneakers, I am loving that Anna used bottles of laundry detergent as hand weights — I'm trying this trick myself! It looks like celebs are loving the fitness events lately, because in the last few weeks we also saw Lo Bosworth, Kat Von D, Lindsay Lohan, and Audrina Patridge working out in support of Muscle Milk and Under Armour.

Save Major Bucks on Manduka, Adidas, and More

If you are a fashion addict, then no doubt you are already a fan of Gilt Groupe, which sells designer duds at way cheaper prices through its two websites, Gilt and Gilt Fuse.

If you are a fashion addict, then no doubt you are already a fan of Gilt Groupe, which sells designer duds at way cheaper prices through its two websites, Gilt and Gilt Fuse. Much like collective-buying sites, the sales last for a limited time. The savings are pretty amazing, and starting this Friday, Gilt will be running a fitness-themed sales event called Get Fit With Gilt.

Among other things, the sale will feature tracksuits from Y-3 Adidas, yoga wear from Be Present, Manduka mats, and shoes from New Balance. Besides clothing, Gilt will also offer discounted rates to Crunch, Pure Yoga in NYC, and race slots and all-inclusive packages to the Iron Girl Triathlon in Atlanta, Syracuse, and Lake Tahoe.

I know I sound a bit like a PR agent, but I'm a big fan of Gilt and saving money — especially when it comes to fitness. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the fitness items will go on sale Friday at 12 p.m. EDT and end on Sunday evening, and everything is on a first-come, first-served basis. Happy shopping!
