Last night's Metropolitan Opera premiere of "La Fille Du Regiment" drew a crowd of the young, sophisticated, and famous. Emmy Rossum, Rinko Kikuchi, Diane Kruger, Leighton Meester, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Naomi Campbell all donned their best dresses and put their best faces forward. Who do you think nailed the look best?

2008 Spring Couture Fashionistas
Celebrities and fashion editors alike convened in Paris this week for the decadent debut of Spring couture season. Chanel models sauntered out of a giant tweed jacket, the Dior runway popped with color, Valentino said his last goodbye, and more.
As much as we love looking at the fashion on the catwalk, there's plenty to admire from the front row, especially with headliners like Diane Kruger, Victoria Beckham, Blake Lively, and the venerable Anna Wintour in attendance. I've gathered a few (okay, more than a few) snaps of the ladies who show us how to view couture in style, and to kick us off, Diane Kruger ever-lovely at Chanel.
Which Hair Color Do You Like Best on Rinko Kikuchi?
Now this is what I call a color chameleon! Actress Rinko Kikuchi isn't at all afraid of a hairstyle change. Yesterday, she arrived at the 2008 Spring Chanel Haute Couture Show donning a cropped and darkened 'do — and paired with those red-hot lips, she sure looks tres chic. Back in February, she had coppery long hair at an Oscars luncheon, and at last year's Golden Globes, her hair was billowy and yellowy-blond. Which color do you find the most flattering on Rinko?

Fab Ad: Chanel Accessories Cruise 2008

Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi seems to have fallen in with the right crowd: the Karl Lagerfeld crowd.
He dressed her in Chanel all through the awards season earlier this year after she was Oscar nominated for her role in Babel, and now he's photographed her for the Chanel Cruise Accessories campaign. Rinko looks beautiful, and mysterious, and the same goes for those handbags she's holding — what do you think?
$130,000 Cake, Just Don't Eat the Decorations
If you think wedding cakes are expensive, you should try comparing them to this Platinum Cake by Japanese pastry chef Nobue Ikara. Draped in platinum necklaces, pendants and pins, this white cake is worth over $130,000.
The cake itself is dedicated to several famous Japanese women, including actress Rinko Kikuchi (from Babel) and model Chie Kumasawa and was commissioned in order to entice women to buy more platinum jewelry.
Mikiko Ichikawa, of the Platinum Guild, said: "I think platinum and a white cake is the best possible combination as a present for women because both have the same colour of white, which is said to have pureness and brightness that lasts forever."
What do you think? Does it make you want to buy more platinum?
