Who knew a black dress could be so complicated? Rosario Dawson's mermaid-like dress has way too much going on - a patch of sequins at the side, leather piping, a tie-waist belt. Plus, her pointy pumps are a tad outdated, no?

Hayden Panettiere's look at the MTV Video Music Awards has got me conflicted. First off, we can't see the front of the dress because her hair is covering it. I do think the color and length of the frock are fun but her clear wedges are throwing me off.

Nelly Furtado a blonde!? Hmmm, not so sure about the hair...or the pants, or the shoes, but I do think the top is working for her. Do those pants have a drawstring?!
