Gift cards are an obvious and great way to cover your behind when you don't have a more personal present. Fabionistas will appreciate cards from H&M or Victoria's Secret, while stylish males will like Urban Outfitters or Ted Baker. Amazon gift cards are great for everyone.

If you go the gift card route, be sure to get a cute gift card holder, like the above Hallmark Candy Cane Cheer Gift Card Box ($2).
Cold hard cash may seem impersonal but I think it excites everyone. Just make sure the bills are crisp and new.
Cards are a sincere and personal way of wishing someone a happy holiday. This is also a good way to go if you're low on funds. Hope that your words are amazing enough to make up for the lack of a monetary present.
Flowers have the ability to liven up any room, so this is a perfect option for anyone on your list who has a home. Be sure the flowers are as stylish as the recipient.
If you gotten a gift that isn't your style, re-gifting is a valid option. That is, unless the item is downright hideous. Just make sure you provide your own gift wrapping. Oh, and don't mistakenly give it to the same person who gave it to you!

Fab's Guide to Holiday Tipping

Just this week I had my first holiday freak out when I realized I'd totally forgotten about end-of-year tipping. I don't have that many people that provide me services throughout the year but where would I be without my faithful dog walker and fabulous hairdresser? I certainly wouldn't be as Fab. So here's a little guide to answer those emergency tipping questions. The queen of etiquette herself, DearSugar, has one for you too!

Dog groomer: 25% of one session
Dog walker or sitter: A bottle of great hand cream or one week's pay.
Apartment building superintendent: $50-200. (Tip less if you tip throughout the year).

Apartment doorman/concierge: $10-$80 or more each, depending upon building. Those who serve you more should get a bigger tip.
Apartment building handyman: $15-$40 each
Maid: One week's pay - if you use a service and never know who is cleaning, don't tip at all.
Teacher: $25-$100. A gift certificate is always appropriate. If you know the teacher's hobbies or interests, then a gift certificate would be nice.
Baby sitter: One night's pay, plus a small gift from your child.
Full-time nanny: One week to one month of pay based on tenure, plus a small gift from your child.
Day care service: $25-70, plus a small gift from your child.
Hairdresser/stylist: 50% of one session
Shampooer at the salon: $10
Manicurist/pedicurist: 50% of one session
Massage therapist: 50% of one session
Personal trainer: $60-$100 upon reaching goal, or 50% of one session

There's all this talk of gift giving, and though it's so much fun, we can't forget that so many people in the world aren't fortunate enough to receive presents during the holidays. Changing The Present is a nonprofit website that offers gifts that make a difference. Choose from a cause or search for your favorite nonprofit to make a donation.

Train a midwife for $25, Educate with style for $40, or Prevent HIV for $62. For that person who has everything, make them a personalized greeting card announcing each gift you donated in his or her name. Changing the world is no easy feat but this is a good place to start.

What is your stocking tradition? My family's has evolved over the years but these days we sit down to Christmas day brunch with our teas and coffees and open the goodies. We then dive into one of my favorite feasts of the year and then continue on to the gifts under the tree. What gets me most excited about stockings is the fact that good things come in small packages. Jewelry, lip balm, gift cards and cash money are my favorite stocking fillers.
