While January Jones looked like a vintage vixen in her Dolce & Gabbana corset gown at the Emmys, Penelope Cruz turned to the dark side in the same frock at the Vicky Christina Barcelona premiere in Spain. January kept it romantic in the lighter version with vintage-inspired accessories and a matching clutch. Penelope opted for simplicity and chose to wear her dark confection with sparkling diamond earrings. Both worked different red carpets but which belle do you prefer?

The majority of you loved Lauren's Emmy dress she designed for herself. We thought it was pretty, but a bit ho-hum. Her second gown of the night, on one of the trophy girls, was also revealed last night. The dresses were complimentary, but nothing over-the-top fabulous. Maybe they wanted the drama to be saved for stunners like Christina Applegate and Olivia Wilde. It was fun to see Project Runway superstar Christian Siriano at the Emmys too - another first - and he designed the deep red tiered dress the other trophy girl wore. Two very different styles from budding designers. What did you think about either? Or both?!

It's not every day you get to witness rare and bold jewelry. Last night at the Emmys I had my bling eye tuned in to the Fred Leighton, Chopard, Cartier, and Lorraine Schwartz stunners. All these beauties deserve a closer look, and I'm here to give it to you. I must point out Christina Applegate's candy-drop earrings; she proves even if you wear a bold (Reem Acra) dress, your jewelry doesn't have to hide.

If you do it right, beige can be bold. Take note from the ladies who attended the Emmys in their elegant neutrals. Look at Olivia Wilde: her romantic silk chiffon Reem Acra gown is far from blah. Neutral colors range far and wide in the color palette so find a hue that complements your skin tone. It makes for a great backdrop against dramatic jewels or embellished details a la Wilde's beaded cap sleeves. Check which leading ladies walked in neutral territory . . .

2008 Emmy Awards Trend Alert: Dripping With Beading

Lavishly beaded dresses are no strangers to the red carpet. Nevertheless, their gorgeousness paid us many visits at the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards. Whether on neutral, black, or white dresses, sparkly beads and crystals made the carpet a much more luminous place tonight. Case in point: Kyra Sedgwick in L'Wren Scott (left). Without the bead detailing, the dress would simply be a plain white dress. Gasp! Beading also appeared on asymmetrical straps, cap sleeves, trains, and sprinkled all over. See who else was dripping with beading.

The 2008 Emmys churned out a grand selection of gowns. But when it came to favorites, your votes went to either the light and lovely looks or the dark and mysterious ones. While there was color on the red carpet, the most stunning looks didn't need the help of a hue. My heart goes to Olivia Wilde in romantic Reem Acra, but also Debra Messing in dramatic Monique Lhuillier. Night and day, day and night.
