Fab Flash: Select Oscar Dresses Already Being Reproduced

We all love a Look for Less, but when the Oscar red carpet has finished, the knockoff manufacturers kick into high gear. Which celebrities' dresses made the cut? Cachet, a New York-based eveningwear company, plans on replicating Heidi Klum's John Galliano, Anne Hathaway's Marchesa, Katherine Heigl's Escada, and Jessica Alba's eggplant-colored Marchesa, to be in stores next September.

Meanwhile, Faviana New York has its eyes set on reproducing Katherine Heigl's Escada for $328 (above), Miley Cyrus' $10,550 Valentino for $248, Amy Adam's Proenza Schouler for $258, and Jessica Alba's $6,000+ Marchesa for $300, to be available in the next 4-5 weeks. Would you ever buy one of these Oscar-inspired dresses?

Marion Cotillard's Oscar Dress, From Runway to Red Carpet

Just like with Ellen Pompeo and her SAG Awards gown, for Marion Cotillard and her Oscars gown, it was love at first sight. "I've worked with him several times," she said of Jean Paul Gaultier, who designed her fishtailed frock. "When I saw this dress from his last collection, I knew I wanted to wear it."

Her white and silver mermaid gown was based on a similar dress from Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring 2008 couture collection - except that one was black and gold. So I'm asking you to step back, and imagine: Do you like Marion's dress as she wore it, or do you wish she would have worn the black and gold runway version? I'm having trouble deciding which I would have preferred . . .

Which of Penelope's Oscar Dresses Was the Most Fab?

Whether it was custom Chanel couture for the red carpet or an elegant one-shouldered cocktail dress for the Miramax/Audi Academy Awards private after party, Penelope stuck with sophisticated black for her Oscars night garb. This one's a toughie: The feathered frock and classic sheath are both pretty Fab. Which one prevails?!

Amy Adams and Isla Fisher = Oscar Twinkies?!

For a minute, I felt like I was having Oscars deja vu when Amy Adams appeared on the red carpet Sunday night. I experienced a flash back to Isla Fisher and the emerald satin Monique Lhuillier gown she wore to the Oscars last year. The deep green color, bustier bodice, and fit-and-flare shape are all very similar - especially noticeable since both red heads wore loose waves. Do you see the resemblance too, or am I just Oscar crazy?

Fab's Oscars Number One . . . and Two and Three!

I haven't really thought of anything or talked to anyone about anything but the Oscars in the past 24 hours. Some may think this is unhealthy, I think it's completely normal. You've seen the ladies and their gowns, you've voted on your faves, and Oscar Monday has come to a close. And so, I present to you my favorites from the star-studded red carpet. This time, there was no one stand-out dress. Three ladies were Fab top to bottom, beginning with your best-dressed Heidi Klum . . .

So she wasn't up for an award. Heidi wins your best-dressed vote and mine - so that should make Heidi even more happy. Heidi confessed she worked with John Galliano on the custom Dior - that is up for auction benefiting women's heart health. I wonder whose idea it was to go over-the-top regal red. No matter, it was a great collaboration. From the high collar to the grandiose train, this dramatic gown saved the runway from a boring demise.

Her pink diamond earrings, fuchsia clutch, and candy-colored jewels brought the look to a flirtatious place. Who said you can't mix pink and red? Not Heidi.

read more I forgive Penelope for not wearing the artsy Dolce & Gabbana gown I picked out for her, I guess. Chanel Haute Couture is a nice alternative - especially when it's dramatic and feathery. I've professed my love for black on the red carpet and this is the perfect example of why: It's dramatic, unique, and worn with confidence. Though it's strapless - a neckline I am so over - it's a plumage-infused one. Also, she added a splash of red with her Chopard earrings. To die.
Another stunning red-wearing winner, Heigl continues to impress on the red carpet. The fit of this crimson Escada dress is impeccable. I am very nit picky about fit on the red carpet - there is no excuse for a dress not fitting correctly. She went all out with red lips and bouncy hair and her cylindrical diamond earrings are awesome. Her waist looks teensy and her shoulders sexy - especially the left one with the circle detailing. Heigl has won me over in the past year, especially here.

My discerning eye can't help but admire the fantastic bling the Oscars bring. Some earrings provided much shine to the stars who dared to go bold. Heidi Klum's glamorous red and pink earrings, which she designed for her own line, looked like candy. Mama-to-be Cate Blanchett's ethnic-inspired Lorraine Schwartz earrings framed her glowing face. Katherine Heigl's Ryan Ryan cylindrical diamond earrings complemented her Old-Hollywood vibe. Diamonds are a girl's best friend, but which glittering Oscars earrings are most Fab?
