Stars Show Their Independent Spirit

Before the Oscars rushed in, Hollywood celebrated at the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday night. Angelina's baby bump was the talk of the town, but Cate Blanchett was the only mommy-to-be to take home a trophy. Ellen Page also scored one of the three awards that went to Juno, and you can check out the full list of winners here. Most of you were loving Kate Beckinsale's red carpet look, but she looked pretty stone-faced inside the show, even between manjoyable Josh and Len. The Independently Spirited Gather in Pre-Oscar Excitement

While the weekend's big event is just hours away, last night's Independent Spirit Awards brought out some big names and one very talked-about baby bump. You know, ICYMI, Angelina Jolie showed off that she is indeed pregnant on the arm of Brad Pitt/Robert Redford (just saying). Sienna looked very happy to be up for best leading actress, but lost to Ellen Page whose Juno also won best feature film. Check out all the winners here. Eva Mendes is apparently out of rehab and red carpet ready while, swoon, Keri and Shane are so my new favorite celebrity couple. Javier and Ellen were unintentional red carpet twinsies - who wore it better? We'll see if tonight's a repeat performance for the two Oscar nominees. Who Wore It Better? Menswear at the Independent Spirit Awards

I couldn't pass this one up. Ellen Page and Javier Bardem both showed up to the Independent Spirit Awards in black suits, untucked white button-downs, and skinny black ties. The only difference was in the shoes - Javier went with trainers, while Ellen rocked ballet flats. Who wore menswear better?!

Announcing the Winners: The 2008 Independent Spirit Awards

Juno, I'm Not There, and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly were big winners at Saturday's beachy, laid-back Independent Spirit Awards, which recognized the year's best independent films. Juno won awards for Best Feature, Best Actress, and Best First Screenplay, while Diving Bell won awards for Best Director and Best Cinematography - a precursor to tomorrow's Oscars?

Meanwhile, Cate Blanchett won an acting award for I'm Not There, and the film also received the Robert Altman Award, which recognizes an outstanding ensemble cast. That award led to a touching tribute to Heath Ledger from director Todd Haynes, who said he still has a hard time imagining the film world without Ledger in it.
