Double Take: Michael Kors Gets Inspired by Balenciaga

Can you blame Michael Kors for drawing inspiration from Balenciaga's Fall collection for his 2009 Resort line? I can't. Nicolas Ghesquière's collection, especially this particular black cut-out dress on Natasha Poly, was so cutting edge, heck, I would be inspired by it if I were a designer. While many of you may think it's weird for one designer to copy another so blatantly, it's completely acceptable in fashion. I mean, hello, there isn't a soul who hasn't copied Yves Saint Laurent's "Le Smoking" tuxedo suit! Kors made the dress, worn by model Vlada Roslyakova, his own by being more subtle with his cut-out shoulders, and by choosing a blue, abstract floral design. When it comes to fashion-forward designs, I say, the more the merrier.

Tom and Kate Celebrate MI4 With Costars, a Queen, and Meatballs

Tom Cruise had wife Katie Holmes by his side last night for the afterparty following his Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol premiere in NYC. We caught a minute with Tom on the red carpet - stay tuned for that later today on PopSugar Rush! - and he spoke about what he loves to do most with his youngest child, Suri. He told us, "Really, everything with her is amazing. She's so much fun to be with. So funny and sweet. Lovely." Additionally, Tom spoke of his love for Katie Holmes. He said, "Every day I fall more in love with her. It's been quite an amazing five years because of her. She's an incredible woman. She's everything to me."

Along with his costars Paula Patton, Simon Pegg, and Jeremy Renner, Tom celebrated the over-the-top screening at The Museum of Modern Art. Tom and Katie also welcomed their pal Queen Latifah to the bash. Queen Latifah starred with Katie in 2008's Mad Money and also shared the screen with Paula in 2010's Just Wright! Paula cuddled up to husband Robin Thicke, who brought his dad, Alan, to the premiere. Simon, meanwhile, said hello to his former Paul buddies Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader. Once the fun wrapped up at The MOMA, Tom and Katie headed out for dinner at The Meatball Shop in the West Village.

Christian Louboutin Loses Red-Sole Case Against Yves Saint Laurent

Christian Louboutin is known for its decadent red-sole footwear, but does that mean other shoe brands can't use the same colored sole? That's what the brand is saying, who's been busy in court seeking trademark protection on its red soles, which was originally granted in 2008. While the trademark ruling is still to be determined, a verdict just came in today denying Christian Louboutin his requested for a preliminary injunction that would have barred Yves Saint Laurent from selling red-soled shoes from its 2011 cruise collection.

"Because in the fashion industry color serves ornamental and aesthetic functions vital to robust competition, the court finds that Louboutin is unlikely to be able to prove that its red outsole brand is entitled to trademark protection, even if it has gained enough public recognition in the market to have acquired secondary meaning," wrote Judge Victor Marrero in his ruling.
