On Our Radar: New York Fashion Week, VIP Style

Attention Fabbies! I have your ticket into New York Fashion Week. Well, I don't have your ticket per se, but I know who does. W Hotel is currently offering a Catwalk Package for anyone who's willing to dish out the dough. For $849 for the W New York (The Tuscany) or for $949 for W New York (Union Square), you'll get access to two runway shows at Bryant Park, VIP backstage passes, a posh hotel suite, and complimentary drinks. You'll also be doing some good because a portion of the proceeds will go to WomenHeart in support of The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection 2008.

New York Fashion Week, Spring 2008: L.A.M.B.

Gwen's back! After a two year runway hiatus, what a comeback it was: riffs on houndstooth, leopard print, plaid, and checkerboard prints all made an appearance. But the main theme of the night was the bullseye - it made an appearance on the invite, handbags, the background screen at the end of the runway, and even on little Kingston's shirt!

(Side note: he and Gavin were sitting in the front row at the show and it was so adorable - Kingston had headphones on so the loud music wouldn't hurt his ears and he bounced around to the music!)

There were suspended shorts, knee-high socks, ruffled high-waisted skirts...but dresses were the definite winners. A cool black taffeta dress seamed with zippers and black and white full-skirted checkered dress both really caught my eye.

The best part about it all, I think, is that the skate and punk vibe that Gwen is all about was readily apparent. But it wasn't over the top, just very Gwen.

Runway Retrospective: Jason Wu

Taipei-born designer Jason Wu has quite an eclectic background - he started out as a freelance doll clothing designer and has quickly made a name for himself with real girls in the fashion world with his luxe, super-feminine sportswear collection. Jason's easy, glamorous designs are a hit among stylish stars like Diane Kruger, Blake Lively, and Natalie Portman - not to mention First Lady Michelle Obama, whom he dressed for the inaugural ball in 2008. Each of Jason Wu's collections are impeccably crafted, blending classic haute couture techniques with a modern, sophisticated sensibility. With his Target collection launching Feb. 5, plus a New York Fashion Week show planned for Feb. 10, we thought this would be the perfect time to take a look back at Jason Wu's most memorable runway looks. Backstage Beauty: LAMB

Well, reactions to Gwen's LAMB fashion show have been mixed. Fab and most of you loved it, but Cathy Horyn at the New York Times called it "ditzville." (Maybe it's a generation gap?) Anyway, I can say that the makeup looked great. It definitely felt like something Gwen would like, and the smoky eye was soft and pretty enough that anyone can wear it.

Once again, I have the scoop on all of the products used in the show, so

Face: The face was sprayed with M∙A∙C Fix Plus to prepare the skin for application and makeup. For sheer coverage, M∙A∙C Studio Moisture Fix and M∙A∙C Face and Body Foundation was applied.

Eyes: Eyes were the focus and inspiration for this look. To create a dramatic, stretched out eye, M∙A∙C Matte² Eye Shadow in Blanc Type was applied all over the lid as a base. In the crease, grays and blue shades were blended; M∙A∙C Matte² Eye Shadow in Prussian, M∙A∙C Matte² Eye Shadow in Typographic, M∙A∙C Matte² Eye Shadow Soot and M∙A∙C Eye Shadow in Fade. Eyes were lined carefully with M∙A∙C Kohl Eye Pencil in Smolder. M∙A∙C Fluidline in Blacktrack was used to wing out the eye, stretching it up and out, while following bone structure. For thick lashes, one full strip of M∙A∙C Pro #6 lashes were applied to lash line and extra half strip of M∙A∙C Pro #6 lashes on the outer corners of eyes.

Lips: M∙A∙C Crème Color Base for Lips in Fawntastic was applied with a patting motion using finger.

Which Star Looks Best at L.A.M.B.?

Smooth waves and side-swept bangs must be the current "in" coif, because it reminds me of the hair we saw at the Teen Choice Awards. This style is popular because it looks polished yet modern. Out of Carrie Underwood, Sophia Bush, or Eve, who do you think looks the best at last night's L.A.M.B. fashion show?

Gwen Stefani & Her Little Lamb Show Off L.A.M.B.

Bryant Park got a little more fabulous yesterday evening when Gwen showed off her new line for L.A.M.B. at NY Fashion Week. Of course, her men were front and center with little Kingston showing off some of his mom's designs (and some adorable True Religion jeans). Check back later today for Fab's full review and pics from the runway, but until then hear about all her and Bella's fun on Elle.com! Among the other guests were bumblebee Carrie Underwood, high waisted Sophia Bush and Eve (out to support her friend and Let Me Blow Your Mind duet-mate, that song was awesome, btw). Also, how funny is Diddy right next to Kingston? Fab says Gavin was dancing with Kingston, which is pretty much cutest ever.
