Funky Fashions at LA Fashion Week

LA Fashion Week is a lot smaller than say New York or Paris, but don't be fooled by its diminutive size. We spotted some fabulous collections overflowing with cutting-edge design and artistry. From Grecian gowns to Rick Owens-inspired jackets, LA had lots. Check out our favorite stuff from the week!

Best of 2008: Fabulous Fashion Week Shows

2008 spawned a tremendous flurry of fabulous Fashion Week shows. Let's see, there were New York Fall and Spring shows, Milan Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and LA Fashion Week. Oh, and don't forget all of the ravishing Resort and Pre-Fall collections. Some of my faves were Proenza Schouler's Fall line, Alexander Wang's Spring offerings, and Balmain's Spring collection in Paris. All different, all divine. Which were your favorites? 2009 Fall New York Fashion Week: Zac Posen

Posen found solace in a retro, eclectic Fall collection. The '40s were beckoned through square shoulders, skirt suits, tweed, ruffles, and country florals. The palette was totally autumnal: beige, gold, pumpkin, storm gray, but kicked up a notch with scarlet red, silky lilac, and noir. Posen's muse of the season was sultry actress Paz de la Huerta, who served as his date while he took his finale bow. No Posen runway is complete without drama, that he supplied through the 5 Browns, a bro and sis piano group, and metallic, asymmetrical gowns. There was lots of flair going on - jeweled belts, fancy buttons, satin shoes, studded headbands, and cluster earrings. All the more to compliment his screen siren.
