Even though it's hot out, I can't seem to keep my hands - or wallet - away from the Fall goodies in stores. Perhaps it's a consequence of those Fall glimpses. In the past two days, I purchased a semisheer black sweater, a thin dolman-sleeve cardi, and a nubby funnel neck scarf. Haute Hair: Paris Couture Week's Best Looks

This week was Paris Haute Couture Week, where the famed fashion houses of France show their most extravagant creations. I rounded up the most outstanding hairstyles (and some makeup - I couldn't resist) to give you a report on what's coming. There was a lot of texturized volume, and also a lot of sleek styling - I wonder which trends will make it into magazines and onto celebs? Whichever one wins out, I'm feeling inspired for Fall already.

Are you all ready for Fall? Ha. I know you're on the verge of pouncing on Spring shopping, but it's always nice to know what's to come in your fashion future. The curtain has closed on the Fall shows. As expected, it was a tame season, but that doesn't mean it was boring. One city in particular disappointed (sorry Milan) while one (Paris) supplied the grand finale. Some of my favorites continued to dazzle (Louis Vuitton, pictured) and a couple surprises (Hussein Chalayan, Adam Lippes) reminded me that fashion is ever evolving. Without further ado . . .

Paris Fashion Week Beauty: The Haute Hits and Misses

And so, Paris Fashion Week comes to a close. Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen - OK, especially McQueen - all showed their visions for Fall 2009. Since Parisian shows tend to be more over-the-top and wildly creative than their New York counterparts, there's plenty to see here. If the trends translate to the sidewalk from the runway, expect to see matte red lips and updos galore this Fall. And maybe, just maybe, some terrifying clown lips.

Alexa Chung hit the Paris fashion circuit looking casually sexy at the Louis Vuitton show. The European stylista wore a long navy cardigan, black hose, and standout Luxotica-inspired Louis Vuitton platform sandals. A dainty star necklace and silver ring complete her perfectly messy ensemble.

Kate and Jamie Enjoy a Little More Fashion Week Revelry

Kate Moss left the Ritz hotel in Paris this afternoon after yet another evening of parties. She wore a silver gown to walk the red carpet with a dressed up Jamie at Fendi's VIP party last night, where Kate downed a couple drinks and danced while watching Beth Ditto perform on stage. In typical Kate style, it seems like she's enjoying the bashes more than the actual clothes during Fall Fashion Week in both France and England - leading some to speculate that she's putting in face time ahead of landing another big campaign.

2009 Fall Paris Fashion Week: Louis Vuitton

As Paris Fashion Week bids us adieu, Marc Jacobs fashioned a feast of a finale. With an eclectic mix of baroque, volume, and - you guessed it - the '80s, Fall's Vuitton babe is divinely decked. This collection was not shy on color; crimson, canary yellow, salmon, and emerald created a robust palette, while nude and black balanced. Splattered and cosmic prints also tickled the eyes. Volume, i.e. folds, curves, loops, were festooned asymmetrically and in opposing colors creating flirtatious dimension.

This was mostly a runway of legs, as skirts and dresses reigned; however, boots were ultra thigh-high, creating the illusion of pants. The comic touch this time around was crinkled bunny ears fastened onto delicious Bardot chignons. In keeping with the French splendor of the house, where drama roams free, this was another high-inducing collection by monsieur Jacobs.

The Monsters of Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week is no stranger to the avant-garde. In the fashion capital, the crazier, the better. But some designers take the concept of fashion-forward to a whole new level. Comme des Garçons, Maison Martin Margiela, Manish Arora (who often provides costumes for Katy Perry), and Viktor & Rolf are some of the orchestrators who liven up the Parisian catwalks. Face paint, fuzzy helmets, and antlers (left) are just the tip of the iceberg. Let the kookiness begin.

Kate and Jamie Bring the Party to Paris

Kate Moss and Jamie Hince kept the good times rolling yesterday after the Chanel show during Paris Fashion Week. They joined up with frequent companion Lily Allen to hit the label's after-party, which was held in conjunction with Another magazine. Kate moved things to her suite for an after-after-party that got so loud neighbors asked to switch rooms, but she was still out shopping today at Fendi. Kate will be spending more time in the French capital soon. She's agreed to help curate an upcoming exhibit at the city's Musee des Arts Decoratifs about her career, which is just the latest instance of her value to the art world.

Freaky or Fabulous: McQueen's Mental Runway

Alexander McQueen is one designer who always manages to be both freaky and fabulous. However, the harsh tone with his Fall collection, for me, veered on the hellish side of freaky. Craftsmanship and wow-factor will never be sacrificed, but these creations were something out of a Matthew Barney feature. It's like that scary movie - Hellraiser? - you can't look away from but makes your hair stand on end. In the end, though, I love scary movies. It's your call: freaky or Fab?
