2008 spawned a tremendous flurry of fabulous Fashion Week shows. Let's see, there were New York Fall and Spring shows, Milan Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and LA Fashion Week. Oh, and don't forget all of the ravishing Resort and Pre-Fall collections. Some of my faves were Proenza Schouler's Fall line, Alexander Wang's Spring offerings, and Balmain's Spring collection in Paris. All different, all divine. Which were your favorites? Fashion Week's Most Fab Attendees

Who, what, where (or wear)? These are the questions people had running through their heads when the Spring Fashion Weeks were in effect. We were mostly focusing on the clothes rather than who dominated the front rows, but let us also dissect the guests. Editors, celebrities, and models get invited to the shows in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. One lady who always looked amazing was Carine Roitfeld. Here, at the Yves Saint Laurent show in Paris, the Vogue Paris editor gave new meaning to the term power suit. The serious glare also helps. See who else graced us with their fashionable presence over the past month . . .

Trend Alert: Wrinkle in Time

Or should I say wrinkle in a time machine? This 1980s hairstyle often pops up here and there, reminding us that crinkly, crimpy hair will probably never die.

Featured in several shows from Paris to London to New York, the style ranged from severe Christian Dior (upper left) to a more straight down, everyday style à la Christian Lacroix, Ruffian, and Karen Walker. For good measure, Jenny Packham added her own simple updo version, too (lower right). Maybe it's time I dig out the ol' pink crimper myself - in moderation, of course.

Stephanie and Naomi, Hermes Cowgirls

Giddyup girls, the Hermes runway was smokin'. And it was wasn't just because of the wrapped and slit fringed skirts, sheer overlays, and cigars. Veteran models Naomi and Stephanie galloped through their dear friend Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring show, and looked every bit amazing. You can tell from the photos that Naomi was strutting her stuff, as always. And Stephanie looks like she's having a grand time. These Hermes cowgirls made it hard for me to focus on the clothes, which were wearable, sexy, and sophisticated. Great to see you back on your stomping grounds, supers.

Kate and Kirsten Help Wrap Up the Spring Fashion Fun

The 2009 Spring fashion season came to a close in Paris last night after a whirlwind month of shows in New York, London, and Milan. Lots of stars were out to celebrate, with Emma Watson, Claudia Schiffer, and Naomi Campbell taking in YSL and Chanel while Dita von Teese and Lenny Kravitz checked out Marc Jacobs's newest work at Louis Vuitton. After shopping around the city, Kate Bosworth brought her man James Rousseau to the Miu Miu show last night along with Kirsten Dunst, who is a former face of the brand. Kirsten also made time for some sightseeing, which hopefully kept her mind off the less-than-stellar opening of How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Louis Vuitton

Severe plumage. Lavish layering. Exotic undertones. Intrigued? You should be. Marc Jacobs's Spring collection for Louis Vuitton is eye candy at its best. Much like his Spring namesake collection, this delivery is maximist. Pick and choose from an array of luxurious delights and make Louis Vuitton a look all your own.I'm swooning over the banded and heavily embellished dresses, the sharp-shouldered blazers (not sick of them yet, no), the quirky separates, and the semi-ridiculous accessories. And the plumage! And the colors! And with a chic Parisian flair. While many folks pared things down given the economic uncertainty, Vuitton delivered a high-octane carnival of clothes.

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Lanvin

I just died and went to Lanvin's heavenly candy shop. Alber Elbaz has done it again - he delivered inventive pieces but didn't alienate Lanvin's signature bold colors and voluminous silhouettes. This Spring collection leaves you wanting more. It offers everything from black to nude, to colors like chartreuse, teal, purple, and orange. Yum. Some of the dramatic wide-shouldered silhouettes are hard to work with; still, on the runway they work like magic. But what I really want to talk about are the accessories. Sparkly necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and clutches demand attention, but somehow don't steal the spotlight from the clothes. A perfect harmony has been created with the stunning clothes and wild jewels. Bravo, Alber, bravo!

The Frizz Pendulum Swings Back

I was a little surprised when TeamSugar member KEG asked for a how-to on the runway hair on this week's Gossip Girl, since it was kind of a daring look - pulled back at the very top with the rest of the hair frizzed out and tucked under itself above the shoulders. Of course, what I'd really like to know is how all the socialites got identical hairstyles in ten minutes (do they teach you that at Chapin?), but I digress. It seems like KEG was onto something, as frizz has already made an appearance on a couple of Spring runways. Sonia Rykiel showed very '70s brushed out curls (right), while Louis Vuitton sent models down the runway looking almost poodle-like.

Since you've likely spent your life (or, at least, the better part of the '90s) trying to get rid of frizzy hair, you may need a refresher on how to get it. Skip conditioner and apply a salt spray on wet hair (you can buy one, or just mix salt and water in a spray bottle). Backcomb where you want more volume and keep shine at bay with a hair powder. That's it. If only braces were on Gossip Girl and Paris runways, a whole generation of girls might make it through puberty that much more smoothly.

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Chanel

What's black, white and fabulous all over? You know it. OK, throw in some pink, purple and gray and done. With an inspired Chanel building serving as the backdrop, Karl delivered a wonderfully diverse Spring collection - the spunky separates being my favorites. A sharp bolero jacket and a tailored bowed top and slim knit skirt are on my lust list.

With dramatic headdresses on top and feathered sandals on bottom, what was in between was modern day Chanel. Tweed suits, party frocks and knits were given fresh treatments via beading, bold cuts and a wonderful chain adornment fastened with a brooch. On the subject of all that glitters, the jewelry was maximized; flower cluster necklaces and deco medallions were stunning. Easing into evening, the silhouette is long and lean - can't argue with that. Nothing over the top here, simply laudable Lagerfeld artistry.

This Week's Fab Favorite: Emma Watson

She's 10 years younger than me and she is sitting front row at Chanel. But it's OK, I am a Harry Potter fan and she looks Fab. Chanel is a fashion house for every generation and it's nice to see the younger generation wearing it accordingly. She opted for long leggings - this is how you wear them people - some stunning platform sandals, and a sporty but chic silver skirt and jacket set; all Chanel. Her satin Chanel clutch is mighty adorable, too. Her hair is slick and her jewelry is pared down; I spy a glittering ring atop the yummy clutch.

My favorite piece amongst this excellent example of layering is the jacket. I would wear that with just about everything to inject sporty nonchalance. Her bunched up sleeves makes it even more lax. So Emma, pray tell, how did you enjoy the show?
