Let's take a mini escape from Fall and focus on resort. For their Cruise '10 collection, Gucci ditched most of its Fall '09 models but kept Natasha Poly and added Snejana Onopka. The campaign was shot in Barcelona by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott — Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin previously shot Gucci campaigns.

I got a little treat trip to NYC this week and you know what that means — take full advantage of the fashion fetes. I attended Australian swim and RTW brand Zimmermann's Resort collection on the roof of the Empire Hotel and it was nothing short of fabulous. Put me next to crazy-fun exotic clothes overlooking the skyline and I'm stoked.

With Cruise '10 in full effect, let's stop and evaluate the latest. Frocks and skirts dominated, but what really caught my eye were clean, lean trousers — quite the opposite of crazy harem pants. Instead, trousers ranged from cropped and loose-fitting to tight and body-con.

I first spotlighted Brazilian designer Lerario Beatriz in 2007, but she's grown immensely since starting her company in 2005. Seeing as how we're in the middle of chic cruise season, it's fitting for me to bring you her Cruise '10 look book. It's romantic and gorgeously simple, with interesting details.

Cruise collections are so delightful. Not only do they get you in the spirit of Summer, most creations are actually wearable, and if you're like me, easy to re-create. This round varies from flirty to dazzling thanks to Monique Lhuillier's indulgent creations.

Ready or not, here come more chic cruise '10 collections. And let me tell ya, this batch is the hottest. Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, Helmut Lang, and Yigal Azrouël have delivered ruggedly cool duds; Calvin Klein is minimalistic but subtly sexy; Brian Reyes is youthful and lends gorgeous prints; Caroline Herrera, Jason Wu, and Diane von Furstenberg are all about brights; and Miu Miu (left) gives us sheer fluidity.

As long as the cunning Cruise '10 collections keep coming in, we'll continue sharing them with you. Next up, we have a mishmash of ensembles ranging from crisp to ethereal by Gucci, Michael Kors, Giorgio Armani, Anna Sui, Christian Dior, Derek Lam, and Narciso Rodriguez — phew! I love how Gucci's Frida Giannini kept things sleek and sexy with streamlined cuts and colors.

I can only dream of the islands I would visit wearing ravishing resort pieces from Yves Saint Laurent, Armani, Moschino Cheap & Chic, and Missoni. While my Costa Rica trip won't be quite as fancy, I can aspire to look just as nice. Each collection showed a different take on holiday dressing.
