It's been a while since I heard any news about someone starting a brand spanking new job. Looks like the world is turning. A friend of mine recently started a new sales position which requires her to travel between LA and Seattle — very different climates.

Sienna Miller stood out amongst major fashion heads last night at the NYC premiere of The September Issue wearing an icy-blue confection by Thakoon. I love how the ruched strapless bodice and short hemline emotes major flirt factor. For extra panache, the cover star wore gold Jimmy Choo sandals, chandelier earrings, clear Lennon-esque sunnies, and a fancy Bottega Veneta woven clutch.

Rarely do we see Lady Kate in prints, but isn't it her multifarious style we all know and love? Affirmative. Her vintage-looking printed turtleneck is a testament to a tribe called Kate.

Join the puff party! Not to be confused with the '80s bubble hem, the puff is all about creating contrasting volume. This is an ideal party look.

Many actresses showed up at the SAG Awards in floor-length gowns, but America Ferrera stood out in her dark-green plunging number. If you're going to a fancy event this New Years, follow America and don a Showstopping Maxi.
Long dresses are ideal for tall gals, but petite girls can pull it off with some high heels.

The floral trend has been blooming for some time now and this ABS by Allen Schwartz Charmeuse red dress, $300, is a fab favorite. It may look familiar, as it reminded us of Nicole Kidman's red Balenciaga Oscars gown - remember? Although compared to many frocks out there right now it's not that expensive, it is still pretty pricey for something you'll probably only wear once or twice.

If you are over metallics, satin is a toned-down alternative. With roots in the glamor girls of the 40s, the fluid and rich fabric is a favorite for evening. But with today's satiny options you can wear it 'round the clock.

Tsk-tsk LL cool girl. You're back in your party clothes and hopefully staying back on the wagon...time will tell. I think this bronze metallic dress would look much better if she was sporting her signature red hair, which is the look you and I both prefer for LL.
