It's time to rock the vote for your favorite jewelry designer of '09. Tom Binns swooned us - and Jessica Biel - with his magical Swarovski-embellished pieces. Forever 21 became a frequent destination for its super cheap and chic baubles. Lorraine Schwartz hypnotized us with those emerald earrings Angelina Jolie wore to the Oscars. Alexis Bittar continues to be a Fab favorite with his galactic yet glamorous jewels. Erickson Beamon's funky creations wooed us to a whole new level. Lastly Dannijo, a NYC label born by sisters Danielle and Jodie Snyder; we can't get enough of their heavy chains and under the sea aesthetic.

Alicia Keys - From Songstress to Jewelry Maven

Alicia Keys can belt out a mean tune, and now she's about to show her talent in jewelry design. The singer, along with Gisèle Theriault, has launched a sterling silver and gemstone line called The Barber's Daughters. What makes it special is each piece is inscribed with author Masaru Emoto's poetry and prayers. The goal is "to give people beautiful, unique pieces with messages that ignite them to find the best within," Alicia said. Retail prices start at $85 and go up to $2,500 - peruse the extensive collection.

Fab Exclusive: Alexis Bittar Talks Jewelry as Weapons and Multiple Bling Personalities

I've always wanted to meet the man behind my favorite Alexis Bittar jewels - I finally had the pleasure to do so at his recent Neiman Marcus trunk show. Alexis filled us in on what's going on in his world right now. He's one busy bee; his San Francisco stay was for a mere 10 hours because he had to fly to Vancouver for an appearance at Holt Renfrew. He revealed his jewelry philosophy and discussed the dope spiked bracelet Alicia Keys wore recently . . .

What’s the latest and greatest goings on?

I just finished Spring, we showed at Paris Fashion Week. We showed at Tranoi, which is a show there. I designed three collections under Alexis Bittar, and three other collections for other designers. I did Alexis Bittar for Michael Kors, we did glass, it’s all clear. And I did Michael Angel, he’s kind of a younger designer. I met him through the girls at Vogue. In a week, doing Victoria’s Secret.

It was the 2009 BET Awards this weekend. Did you tune in? If so, you would have definitely noticed five standout ladies on the red carpet. Alicia Keys opted for an embellished Jenny Packham, Beyonce did sequined Balmain, Ciara chose maroon leather, Zoe Saldana continued her clean streak with Calvin Klein, and Adrienne Bailon worked a glam bubble dress. All different, all gorgeous, but who's most Fab?

One thing is for sure: Alicia was determined to bring some color to the Oscars red carpet. At the award show, the singer was one of the few to wear color in her lilac Armani Prive gown. Later, at the Vanity Fair soiree, she switched the hue up to yellow. It was chiffon like her first dress, but one-shouldered and with a longer train. American Music Awards: Best Dressed

Today's musical bests came out for the American Music Awards, and several of them did so in style. There wasn't a lot of color or drama, but detailing and shimmer made up for it. Taylor Swift looked sweet in a beaded one shouldered dress, while Alicia Keys looked exotic in navy and a bindi. Miley was age appropo and gilded in her black and gold draped dress. Pink went for high drama in an asymmetrical Vivienne Westwood gown, while Sarah Chalke was paired down perfect in a satin Dolce & Gabbana LBD. We have quite a nice range here, but who made you swoon?

Alicia added some much needed color to the metallicized American Music Awards red carpet. She also added exotic flair. Her navy one shoulder gown with silver embellishment is lovely, but I'm really digging her bold earrings and silver bindi. Exotic indeed.
