September's Harper's Bazaar reminds us all how naturally beautiful and unique they were. In an editorial shot by anti-Photoshop photog Peter Lindbergh, a slew of original Supers are captured au natural, without makeup. While I have to ask, where's Linda? And Kate? Oh, the perks of being a celebrity. While we have to wait until April 19 for the Loomstate For Target launch, they get to have first dibs days before. But just because we weren't at the launch party doesn't mean we can't spy on the fun. Supermodel Amber Valetta looked fresh and rested at a party in San Diego over the weekend. That may be thanks to her crisp white Derek Lam canvas cowl dress and glowing tan. The black skinny belt is a nice diversion from all the white, as are her black patent booties. While she kept herself rather minimal, Amber did adorn her earlobes with luxurious diamond studs.

I always look forward to seeing veteran models on the red carpet, especially when they have enviably effortless style. Amber Valetta attended Fashion For Life 2008 in a strapless metallic bronze dress, accessorized with a gold box clutch, strappy sandals, and bangles. It's an unfussy and elegant look that can easily be imitated even in a different color palette.

Fab Ad: Valentino Spring/Summer '08

Times they are a-changin'. Judging from Valentino's Spring/Summer '08 ads, it seems there's no longer a need for pretty-faced models to show off luxurious designer items. Even though it's Amber Valetta, Anja Rubik, Raquel Zimmermann, and Shalom Harlow hiding behind those drop-dead bags, it might as well have been any other model with a slim bod; Valentino could have even saved himself a buck or two! These ads are different and attention grabbing, and for that I admire them. For once, a designer has placed the accessories - not the model - front and center. What do you think?
