Last night's Costume Designers Guild Awards was the latest in a line of award season events to draw a stylish celebrity crowd. In honor of films' crafty costumers, celebs like Rooney Mara, Kate Beckinsale, and Amber Valletta turned to their chic sheaths and pretty dresses to suit up for the occasion. Kate Beckinsale had the night's most glamorous appearance in a romantic floor-length gown, but otherwise these leading ladies, like Rooney in a sweet-cum-sexy J. Mendel frock and Amber Valletta in a brilliant minimalist sheath, showed a little more restraint on the red carpet (perhaps saving their sequins for Oscar Sunday?). Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman cozied up to their son Skyler last night at an LA bash hosted by InStyle. The event, part of the magazine's "Dinner With a Designer" series held to honor her forthcoming debut collection, was Rachel Zoe and Skyler Berman's latest fashionable party. The duo also stepped out last week for an event at Petit Tresor children's boutique with proud dad Rodger. Rachel, Rodger, and Skyler were joined yesterday by family friends like Ali Larter, Amber Valletta, and Odette and Dave Annable. The whole evening meant a lot to Rachel, as she later wrote on her blog, "An incredible evening from InStyle to support the launch of my collection. Beyond thankful to have your love and support!" Ali was also a fan of the proceedings and the clothes. She tweeted, "Love [Rachel's] fabulous gear! Beautiful night."

Drew Barrymore and a pregnant Kate Hudson led the stylish way to a benefit dinner for the Natural Resources Defense Council's Ocean Initiative on Saturday, held at the Malibu home of movie executive Ron Meyer and his wife Kelly. The evening was cohosted by Chanel, which helps explain the high-fashion picks of the guests like Rachel Zoe and Courteney Cox. Drew Barrymore brought along her boyfriend Will Kopelman, and there were other happy duos there, too. Kate Hudson and her fiancé Matthew Bellamy made a fancy entrance following a low-key week of outings to see her son Ryder's athletic events and casual lunch dates. Expecting parents Bryce Dallas Howard and Seth Gabel also made it a date night, as did Seth Gabel and his wife Caroline Fentress, Gabrielle Reece with Laird Hamilton, and Barbra Streisand with James Brolin. Drew and Will led the PDA stakes, though, as is their usual habit. They kissed on their way inside Rob and Kelly's house, with Drew decked out in an outfit from Chanel that she likely picked out during a visit to its Beverly Hills shop last week.

Kate didn't have Alexander Skarsgard by her side, but she could at least catch up with his costars Stephen and Anna and tell them all about her and Alexander's recent shirtless- and bikini-filled getaway to Coachella.
