Lanvin and Max Mara debuted Pre-Fall collections with a few looks that are straight out of the wild (albeit a ladylike wild). A Czech socialite, most known for being the ex-wife of a real estate mogul very prominent in the media, has a thing for animal prints. She recently told People during a tour of her opulent, seven-story Upper East Side townhouse, "In each of my homes I have a leopard room. I don't know why, but I do. It's like my lounge next to the dressing rooms." Translation: Her Manhattan sitting room is literally decked floor to ceiling in the wild print - with a cheetah painting from Africa to match.

When it comes to patterns, I don't have much of an animal instinct, but I enjoy a dose here or there - so long as no wild things are harmed in the making. I'd set this Cheetah Print Bench ($650) at the foot of my bed, but I wouldn't upholster an entire sofa in the fabric. How about you?
