I never tire of boutique parties. There's always amazing eye candy, yummy apps, and irresistible bubbly involved. A couple weeks ago, I attended an Armani party. The SF store had a special retrospective on gowns worn at awards shows and red carpet events - 'twas amazing. It was Armani, so I needed you to help me put together a simultaneously chic yet fun ensemble. Speaking of red carpet fashion, check out my Red Carpet Faceoff game - fun!

I started you off with these Emporio Armani Quartz and Pearl Earrings ($110). They're the ideal combination of sophistication and pizzazz. Let's see your creations!

Trend Alert: Drawstring Bags

There are two rules I abide by when shopping: function and fashion. That's why I'm so smitten with the resurgence of drawstring bags. This sporty, luxe attitude goes perfectly with today's casual cool style and even translates well when paired with tailored ensembles. Oh, on another note, I purchased a crackly gold metallic version of this Foley + Corinna Drawstring Bag ($445) a couple months ago - so rad.

2009 Fall Couture: Giorgio Armani Prive

Giorgio Armani's Couture collection exuded wild, intricate details and I loved it all. For Fall, the mastermind experimented with three elements: modernity, rocker chic, and sophisticated tailoring. The results? A smashing lineup of decadent paliette pantsuits, satin frocks, zebra-print blazers, beaded skirts, and velvet aplenty. I love how he mixed together different textiles for maximum interest and texture - my favorite has to be this multimarvelous skirt suit. Fab-u-lous. Beaded and sequined headgear lent a vintage, flapper vibe to the collection while zipper and fur embellishments added a youthful touch. It's risky mixing together so many different textures and elements, but Armani once again proved his cunning capability.

Look of the Day: Bows and Dots

Who'd ever think to mix bows and dots? turquoisepassion did and she looks amazing. I like how she balanced out her bright dots with a sleek blazer but she really took it to the next level with the exaggerated bow detail in the front. Way to think outside the closet!

Chic Cruise '10

I can only dream of the islands I would visit wearing ravishing resort pieces from Yves Saint Laurent, Armani, Moschino Cheap & Chic, and Missoni. While my Costa Rica trip won't be quite as fancy, I can aspire to look just as nice. Each collection showed a different take on holiday dressing. Armani took the bold route with city chic cuts; Missoni played with plenty of subdued prints and layers; Moschino Cheap & Chic kept it soft and feminine; and Yves Saint Laurent - my favorite - wowed with an ode to YSL muse Loulou de la Falaise. Fab Flash: Gisele Bundchen and Elle Team Up For (PRODUCT) RED

In an effort to fight the battle against HIV and AIDS in Africa, Gisele has teamed up with Elle magazine and (PRODUCT) RED apparel. The Super is set to appear in over 30 international Elle editions wearing an array of (PRODUCT) RED endorsed clothing from the likes of Gap, Armani, Converse, and Apple. 50 percent of all profits go towards the cause.

The do-gooder has also joined in on Bono's AIDS-fighting initiative along with Scarlett Johannson's effort in spreading awareness about the epidemic. "If that [fighting HIV and AIDS] can be achieved by buying a couple of pairs of Converse, it's worth a shot," said Johansson.

I Want This Wardrobe: Gossip Girl, Serena van der Woodsen

Last night's episode of Gossip Girl was filled with new beginnings. Blair was trying to get in good graces with the Yale folks while Jenny presented her first fashion show. Serena, of course, was busy with her fluctuating love life. In an attempt to woo her new love interest, Serena pulled out all the fashion stops. Her Just Cavalli gown and jeweled Armani pumps were just what the love doctor ordered. Though you can't see it here, a cozy Vince shawl goes perfectly with her sophisticated frock. Note how Serena spiced things up with a colorful cocktail ring. Hail the queen!

Fab Ad: Armani Jeans Spring/Summer '08

In-your-face, vulgar sexuality is nothing new to advertising (hello, Dolce & Gabbana?), but when a usually demure designer gets in on the raunchy action, it takes you by surprise. The Armani Jeans Spring/Summer '08 ads with Julia Stegner and Evandro Soldati are definitely hot, hot, hot. Maybe they look more-so when compared to the Armani PrivéSpring 2008 couture collection. I'm not usually conservative when it comes to fashion ads, but these may have taken sexy a step too far. I feel like I've barged in on a hot and heavy makeout session. What do you think?

The Look For Less: Armani Collezioni Polka-Dot Skirt

Polka dots have this unique ability to lighten any mood. Oscar De La Renta even said, "Why don't you step out in playful polka dots?" This Armani Collezioni Polka-Dot Skirt ($895) makes me happy, but it's just way too pricey so I'll have to find happiness elsewhere...

What a pretty alternative this French Connection Polka Dot Skirt ($148) is. It has eye-catching dots, a gorgeous oversized bow, and a beautiful gold background. It doesn't come cheap, but I think it's justified considering how lovely and ladylike it is. Score!
