Just when I was fearing a safe season of LBDs, Chloe walked the printed carpet in head-to-toe mint green Balenciaga. Phew! She stood out at the 12th Annual ACE Awards: Accessories Council Honors Fashion Influencers in an easy silk T-shirt dress, a rhinestone choker, nude swirly sandals, and a saucy metallic clutch.

Balenciaga's Creative director Nicolas Ghesquière has been explaining his Spring collection and in particular his use of latex. "Usually, latex evokes sex and S&M but I didn't want to say that at all. The rubber is not intended to touch the skin, there is silk in between. 
As the news hit last week that Gareth Pugh was launching a fragrance, this week another designer perfume collaboration comes to light. It's now been officially announced that after a long break from the beauty world, Balenciaga will move back into fragrances. They have signed an exclusive deal with Coty Prestige to launch a new luxury line of scents worldwide.
Not only was Lagerfeld's namesake Spring collection stunning — reworked tailoring, sharp lines, corset details, sheer play — but this smart little handbag brought a smile to my face. Behind the mystique, we are learning that Karl teeters between serious and comical, and this is living proof. Angela Lindvall worked it like a pro delivering the goods and demonstrating the wit — you know it's her because of those unmistakable brows.

I've always thought of actress and daughter of Jane Birkin Charlotte Gainsbourg as a cool girl, but not as a model. Still, the best friend of Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquiere has been chosen as the newest face of the house's Fall '08 advertisements. This is not the first time Charlotte has taken a stab at modeling, though; she was once the face of French handbag line Gerard Darel.
