In case of a downpour, make sure to weatherproof your puppies and wear rain boots to and from your destination. Oooh, rarely do we catch a glimpse of someone shopping at Stella McCartney. Fab's January Most Wanted

On New Year's Eve I was driving home to start getting ready for my evening festivities. I couldn't help but be distracted by the gorgeous sunset that accompanied my peaceful drive. Luckily, like the responsible driver I strive to be, I was able to multi-task and admire and drive at the same time. The sky of pastels had a soothing effect that filled me with hope and happiness going into the new year. And so, my picks this month are a mix of things that make me happy and things I find I simply need to kick the year off with. Nothing crazy, a couple things colorful - still trying to honor my New Year Fabalutions.

This Foley + Corinna Handbags Linen City Tote ($372) is the perfect buddy to add some metallic to Winter and bring me into Spring don't you think?
Ever since I chopped my hair off, I've been into barrettes again. These Forever 21 Pyramid Stud Hair Clips ($3) are cute, but tough.
Spring is on my mind and this Tory Burch Stefani Voile Tunic ($275) gets me revved up for sunnier times.
I'm still recovering from holiday debt so I'm waiting for this bright and sassy bebe 3/4 Sleeve Empire Sweater Dress ($98) to go on sale.
Feathers are fun and fabulous. This Elie Tahari Nicolette Skirt ($448) has just the right amount of plumage for a feather novice like me.
The weather is frightful but that doesnt mean style has to suffer. I'm swooping up these Belle by Sigerson Morrison Black Patent boots (on sale for $195, originally $390), which are perfect for everyday.

Kate Bosworth looks very Proenza as she heads out from Sur restaurant on Robertson Blvd. I gotta say, I like her because she consistently looks good. She never takes my breath away but she also doesn't make me cringe. I adore her Chloe Heloise bag and how she spiced up a simple strapless dress with a white tank!

Celebrity Style: Courteney Cox

Have you noticed that celebs have been taking a simple approach to dressing lately? Courteney Cox is no exception. The actress is dressed in all black, but her Phillip Lim dress is quite cool; I adore the mesh detail and the lantern sleeves. The only things I would have done differently is worn more textured flats, ditched the ankle bracelet (wtf?) and brushed my hair! Other than that, Cox is a fox!

Trend Alert: Red & Purple

A color combo for the more daring, I have always enjoyed pairing two of my favorite colors: red & purple. The deep, vibrant, blue-hued colors create a funky yet exotic synergy; I wear them with dark denim or black. This color combo was big on the runways of the Spring collections of both Prada and Gucci - can you dig it?

Mini wedges are another 70s era shoe throwback, along with wood-heeled wedges and cork heels. Look, I don't make the trends, I just report them! No wait, ok, sometimes I like to think I do make the trends. If you take a look at my shoe closet you will see many shoes that could have been leftover from the set of Three's Company. I don't know why, but 70s inspired shoes are just so groovy.

You know, I could have seen this one coming. The designers behind shoe label Sigerson Morrison have really carved their niche with delicate flats and vintage-inspired heels; yours truly has a few pairs herself. The only way is up and Miranda Morrison and Kari Sigerson are expanding big time with their first-ever global marketing campaign and additional product categories such as handbags, eyewear, and small leather goods.

Their lower-priced line, Belle by Sigerson Morrison, will also have a more distinct personality. Belle is more lighthearted and colorful and the Belle logo is being redesigned to be more recognizable. But a lot of time and energy is going into their official handbag launch - in full force next Spring. Looks like I'll have to make some more space in my closet for Sigerson Morrison!
