What a night! This year's Met Gala showed a bevy of inspiring, drop dead gorgeous looks from celebs, and while it was hard choosing, there were five women in particular who displayed utterly perfect ensembles in our fashion book. Diane Kruger stunned in a breathless purple feathered gown, Carey Mulligan shimmered in a whimsical one-of-a-kind paillette dress, and who can deny Gwyneth's chic and sexy, back-exposing gray silk number - all three ladies wore Prada. Furthermore, there was Nina Dobrev who shined in slinky black and gold Donna Karan Atelier gown, while Solange Knowles killed it in a sunny yellow peplum gown by Rachel Roy. The statuesque stunner chose an elegant white gown with an asymmetric neckline, but the real statement-maker was her floor-length cape, which was draped over her shoulders. Gwyneth kept everything else simple, showing that restraint is often the key to a perfect look. In second place with her flirty Louis Vuitton gown is Michelle Williams, and rounding out third place is the lovely Penelope Cruz in Giorgio Armani, whose classic, ladylike look you loved. The Vanity Fair afterparty is like the delicious dessert of the Oscars' five-star meal. The looks were equally dazzling as they were on the Oscars red carpet, and we had more of our favorite celebs come out to celebrate Hollywood's biggest night of the year. It was so hard to choose our top five, but after much debate, here are our best-dressed stars. They get the nod for different reasons, but the most important one is how well they pull together a complete look that's right for them. Kate Hudson looked fabulous in her first red-carpet appearance postbaby Bingham, Selena looked sophisticated and yet still youthful, Cameron looked sporty and bright, Venus wowed us with color and endless legs, and Diane got our fashion obsessions going with her lingerie-inspired Calvin Klein gown. While it was hard deciding, we narrowed it down to the top five: Diane Kruger left us awestruck in a halter gown by Prada, Viola Davis – winner of the best actress award for her role in The Help - looked sophisticated and sexy in a red gown by Raoul, and Michelle Williams channeled true Hollywood glamour in black and white Chanel.
