Edun Gets Fashionable Facelift, Maintains Its Ethics

Bono and his wife Ali Hewson are revamping their philanthropic fashion brand, Edun. "We were so keen on our mission [to develop regions in Africa] that we made compromises that maybe we shouldn’t have . . . Without great clothes, we don’t have a business, so it’s important to get that end right," Hewson said.

Thanks to this new goal, and with the help of its backer LVMH, Edun's Pre-Fall collection is already looking better. It will most likely hold a fashion show in New York to unveil the line. What's more, Edun plans to hire a creative director to take the brand to a higher level. Though nothing is for sure, there are rumors that Alexander Wang is among the designers approached for the job. Only time will tell, but no matter who fills the position, I'm confident the brand will soar.

She's won the hearts of many over the years, but Gisele has won one big heart recently: that of U2 frontman Bono. They apparently first hit it off when Gisele appeared in Bono's RED charity campaign and refused payment, but now it's looking like they might be taking it a step further.

The model is reportedly in talks with Bono to star in U2's next music video. If it happens, Gisele will join a long and venerable list of supermodel cameos in music videos: think Linda Evangelista in George Michael's "Freedom," Christie Brinkley in Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl," and Kate Moss in the White Stripes' "I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself." Viva La Bundchen!

Fab Flash: Gisele Bundchen and Elle Team Up For (PRODUCT) RED

In an effort to fight the battle against HIV and AIDS in Africa, Gisele has teamed up with Elle magazine and (PRODUCT) RED apparel. The Super is set to appear in over 30 international Elle editions wearing an array of (PRODUCT) RED endorsed clothing from the likes of Gap, Armani, Converse, and Apple. 50 percent of all profits go towards the cause.

The do-gooder has also joined in on Bono's AIDS-fighting initiative along with Scarlett Johannson's effort in spreading awareness about the epidemic. "If that [fighting HIV and AIDS] can be achieved by buying a couple of pairs of Converse, it's worth a shot," said Johansson.

Happy Earth Day everyone! We should try to make eco-friendly decisions every day, but if you haven't already, today is the day to reflect on how you can make a difference, big or small.

Larsen Gray, Beau Soleil, Bono's EDUN, and C& C California are just a few in the eco-chic roster. They are living proof that you can be nice to the environment without sacrificing style and quality. Gregory, a former Gap designer who won the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award for 2008, helms three labels: ethical T-shirt label EDUN which he runs with Bono's wife Ali Hewson, Loomstate, an all-organic line of t-shirts and jeans, and his own edgier line Rogan.

Ellen Barkin hosted last night's Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards in NYC. The event, which Council President Diane von Furstenberg made sure started on time, was attended by celebrities such as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Kate Bosworth, Heidi Klum, and Debra Messing, among others, as well as by top designers and fashion insiders.

Oscar de la Renta and Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler tied for Womenswear Designer of The Year while Ralph Lauren took home the prize for Menswear Designer of the Year.

iPod Nano Goes Red

Gap isn't the only company getting on the (Product) Red bandwagon. Now, Apple is contributing to the cause with its lovely red 4 GB iPod Nano Red. The Red initiative, which Bono discussed during his appearance on Oprah today, was launched by the U2 singer and Bobby Shriver to raise money for and awareness of HIV/AIDS in Africa. When you buy the special-edition red Nano, Apple will contribute $10 from your purchase price to the Global Fund, which funds AIDS research and drug distribution in Africa.

The color-screen gadget holds up to 1,000 songs in a stunning red aluminum enclosure. Gap Launches (Product) Red

I've been telling you about a lot of pink products that raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. But you may notice that today, FabSugar is wearing red-specifically, Gap (Product) Red. This special line of clothing is part of the larger (Product) Red initiative, a charitable organization started by Bobby Shriver and Bono, who'll appear on Oprah today, to raise awareness about AIDS in Africa.
