FABTV: Bravo Replaces Project Runway With The Fashion Show

The hammer has fallen. The never-ending fight over Project Runway has finally settled in favor of Lifetime. A big loss for Bravo but the network isn't going to cry over spilled milk. Bravo has already announced a new fashion show replacing the former called The Fashion Show.

The reality fashion show rotates around seasoned professionals - compared to Project's newbie designers - and will feature designer Isaac Mizrahi and former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland as the hosts, with Fern Mallis as the judge along with other special guests. The twist? Each episode will feature a fashion show criticized not only by Fern and guest judges, but also by live studio audience members - interesting. The winner of the show will have his/her designs picked up by a major retailer. Interested? Meet the cast of the show and let us know what you think!

Day One at Parsons, Project Runway, Season Five

You've met the new batch of aspiring designers and now it's showtime. Project Runway Season Five premieres tonight! Everyone seems pretty wide eyed and excited, but we all know that will soon change. With short and sometimes not so sweet cameos from Tim Gunn, Heidi, Nina and Michael, my favorite part of this video is the faces. Faces of fear, relief, worry and shock, you know what I'm talking about. And I must say: Why is Kelly hating on Nina? She's not so bad, Michael can be just as scary. So...Did You Watch the First Episode of Project Runway Season 4?

You know I did! Since I've been leading up to the premiere of the fourth season with an ode to Tim Gunn and Nina Garcia and their 10 Fashion Essentials, it's now time to sit back and watch the masters at work. Be sure to check out my 10 Fashion Essentials too!

What did you think of Project Runway's season 4 premiere episode?! In case you didn't watch yet, I'm not going to spoil anything - we will definitely be bringing you fun spoilers, polls and quizzes this season. My two cents, because I can't resist: I think the judges should be looking for someone really commercially viable. We've witnessed some winners, and a whole lot of losers, hopefully in the show's fourth time around we'll witness some real fashion magic. And, the discovery of a fashion designer with true staying power. Guess we'll have to just watch and find out!

Fab Flash: Project Runway Has Set A Date!

Thank god for blogs. No, no not just ours...thanks to Heidi Klum's we now know that Project Runway Season Four will premiere Wednesday, November 14th on Bravo TV! I know I'm not the only one anticipating a fresh, blood thirsty crop of fashion designer hopefuls. They better kick some ass this season! However, right before the holidays? Oh well, I guess catching a marathon is the best thing to do on a rainy cold day anyway!

FabSugar Exclusive! Taylor Jacobson, A Lady Who Lunches . . . With an Edge

All good things must come to an end. And that includes Rachel Zoe's work relationship with her platinum-blond style associate, Taylor Jacobson. You either loved her or hated her - but you have to admit you loved her wardrobe. I couldn't shut up about her awesome jackets; Chanel, Dries van Noten, Balenciaga, sigh. You may recall I spoke with Rachel at the beginning of this last season of The Rachel Zoe Project and she shared that Taylor has a heart of gold. I'm sure Taylor's leaving Rachel Zoe was melancholy for all parties involved - the two have worked together since January 2005. I know I will miss drooling over her jackets and watching her and Brad's banter.

We caught up with Taylor this week, and though she didn't divulge details about her departure, she has a positive outlook on life - something we seldom see from the show's supposed villain. And, can I just add, Taylor gives Fab favorite Diane Kruger props for having stellar style - great minds . . . Listen up.

What should we expect to see from you in the next year?

I look forward to exploring styling on my own and the new opportunities and experiences it is going to bring.

Who are your go-to designers right now?

Chris Benz, Alexander Wang, and Prabal Gurung.

Whose style do you admire?

I think Diane Kruger has great style and even more impressive is that she does it herself.

Has being on TV changed your style at all?

No. I think I have always been true to my sense of style.

What was your last big splurge?

I’m trying to be recession savvy at the moment.

What are the most ridiculous trends right now?

I don’t think that anything is ridiculous, you can always make something work with the right styling.

I will never be caught dead in . . .

There is nothing I won’t try.

Most overrated designer? Most underrated?

I respect the art form of design, and I think they should all be respected for sharing their art with us.

Have you ever considered designing your own line of clothing or accessories?

At this point I’m entertaining all ideas. I am walking into this new chapter with an open mind.

On Our Radar: Bravo TV's "Make Me a Supermodel"

If you're an aspiring model, you've surely heard the question, "Do you have what it takes?" Well, Bravo TV is wondering the same for their upcoming reality show, "Make Me a Supermodel."

National casting dates have yet to be announced, but here's what we do know. You must be at least 18 years of age, a legal U.S. resident and be able to travel to any foreign country. The deadline to apply is October 8, but the earlier, the better! To download an application and to find out more info, go here.

Would You Watch Christian Siriano's Bravo Show?

There's no arguing the flamboyant, yet lovable, Project Runway winner Christian Siriano is the most successful of any PR alum. He shows at New York Fashion Week with the best of them, he has a successful shoe line with Payless, and came out with a sassy book this year. Bravo still loves the guy, so much they are creating a show devoted to him as he sets up a new shop and markets his clothing line.

We're two episodes into Bravo's new reality show, The Fashion Show, and I'm curious - are you watching? I said it before and I still think: though the designers aren't as talented as the ones on Project Runway, the show is entertaining and I like the live audience aspect. I'm also into the Harper's Bazaar mini challenges. Are you into it?

Fab Flash: The Battle Over Project Runway Continues

The drama continues: Bravo and Lifetime are still fighting over Project Runway. The Weinstein Co. has filed an appeal after a judge ruling in NBC's favor blocking the show's move from Bravo to Lifetime.

“Obviously we will be appealing and remain committed to our partners,” said the company.

As the companies battle it out, everything will remain the same and season six filming continues - with its home to be determined.

NBC Universal, who was ordered to pay a $20 million bond, and The Weinstein Co. are due back in court Oct. 15 to (finally) settle the matter. With everything up in the air, we can't but wonder if Nina Garcia and Marie Claire will still be part of the show. Hopefully, everything will be resolved before the sixth season airs.
