Su Casa member Pretty Little Things got this overstuffed burgundy chenille burgundy chair at a garage sale for only $50. She wants to integrate it into her awesome new apartment, but her "theoretical color scheme involves grays, golds, whites, neutrals, dark wood, no burgundy!" And aside from the color, she also finds the chair bulky. So she asks, "Can someone suggest a nice color palette that would match with burgundy (in keeping with the other colors I had in mind, or something like them) or should I just give up and get a slipcover?"

Donna Karan's Fall collection is the epitome of Autumn. Warm browns, vivid rust, olive green, terra cotta, mustard, and burgundy were the plush colors the designer used to spice up her line. Now is the perfect time to draw inspiration from it and fill our closets with similar pieces. You can even get inspired from the changing colors of the leaves outside. Stick to one or two colors at most. I've found that gray tights are the perfect accent to any autumnal color. Help! I've fallen in burgundy bliss. Compared to its racy red sister, there's something about the blood-red handbag that provides warmth and dimension to any look.

This dark red delicacy goes hand-in-hand with Autumn's rich color palette and makes for an amazing compliment to dark denim or a sophisticated LBD. I think I need this amazing Miu Miu Woven Leather Tote ($1,595). Woven to perfection.

A famous wine growing region in France. Known as Bourgogne in French. The name refers to the region where many Chardonnay white grapes and Pinot Noir red grapes grow exuberantly. It is also a generic name used to describe a kind of softer, inexpensive red table wine that is not produced in France.

Our New York Fashion Week kickoff began this morning with Steven Alan. For Fall, the designer showed another batch of covetable casual-cum-cool offerings pairing his signature modern classic style with a bold touch of Mexican and folk influence. Full red skirts were paired with riding jackets and fedora hats and structured striped wool vests with slightly flared pants, and there was even a cute vintage-inspired tweed jumpsuit styled with a button-up blouse and cardigan. For a soft touch, the designer also supplied sweet peplum-embellished floral and striped dresses, plaid shirt dresses, and, for a little shine, black and gold brocade dresses and trousers.
