Fashion's Night Out - Catch It on CBS!

Fashion's Night Out will receive a big boost of support for its second annual event, taking place Sept. 10, thanks to CBS. The major television network has signed up to film a prime-time special about the NYC-initiated event to support the fashion industry and its local retailers. The documentary, which will include behind-the-seams footage and coverage of the multifaceted event, is said to look "beyond the glamour to the real-life implications at stake" by focusing "on the individuals working in all parts of the industry, from salespeople to design staff, for whom the vibrancy of the fashion business is a question of economic survival."

Fashion's Night Out will kick off Sept. 10, and the special CBS presentation will air Sept. 15, at 8 p.m. Will you be tuning in?

We're not the only ones wondering what it's like behind the seams at J. Crew. Who are these masterminds and how do they create such amazing (affordable) pieces? Well, after a year of visiting J. Crew headquarters, CBS’s Sunday Morning is giving us an exclusive inside look at the company and its CEO, Millard “Mickey” Drexler. Footage includes daily meetings, photo shoots, and store concept walk-throughs - this is where the magic happens, people! The film will also show Drexler’s famous loudspeaker “pages” where he updates the entire staff on developments. Sounds like a cool work environment. Oh, did you know Drexler rides his bike to work every day? Cool.

There was a reason why we went J.Crazy for J.Crew in '09. Creative director Jenna Lyons took the brand to a whole new level, surprising every stylista - from prepsters to hipsters - with its girly tomboy aesthetic. There were tailored blazers, ruffly jeweled-embellished tops, beautiful baubles, and boyfriend jeans abound. CEO Millard “Mickey” Drexler was showcased on CBS’s Sunday Morning, and who can forget J.Crew's presidential endorsement: Michelle Obama. Indeed, it was a crazy cool year. The lovelies include Alicia Hall (my favorite), a brown haired, blue eyed Las Vegas native and do-gooder; Jamie Lee Darley, a self-proclaimed tomboy and Bay Area native; and Catharina Lee, a reformed party girl who's currently studying communications at George Mason University. Last night, the 90210 cuties attended the CBS, CW, and CBS Television Studios and Showtime TCA Party, as well as Sophia Bush and Dexter's Jennifer Carpenter. What a range of styles. From modern to ladylike, personalities shined through. Who gets your vote?

Fab Flash: Beverly Hills 90210 Gear

Apparently, I wasn't the only one going back to cool, 90210 style. CBS Consumer Products has just announced a merchandise rollout to go along with the highly anticipated spinoff of the popular teen show of the '90s.

The clothing collection of tees, tops, and fleece pieces will feature signature logos from the old show and the new show, as on these t-shirts. If you're embarrassed of showing your 90210 love on the outside, check out the innerwear selection of pajamas and underwear.

But there's more. CBS also plans on adding backpacks, handbags, and cosmetics to the merchandise line. All products will be sold in specialty and department stores in early 2009. Prices have not been set.

Is there a sexier sight than sizzling Victoria's Secret Angels dressed in fire red? I think not. Selita Ebanks, Marissa Miller, Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Doutzen Kroes all gathered at the Victoria's Secret Lexington Avenue flagship store for its grand opening ceremony. Selita opted for sheer, Marissa chose a mini tank dress, Heidi stood out in a print, Alessandra wore Herve Leger, and Doutzen went for shimmer. All are hot, but which angel in red is most Fab? Oh, and don't forget to watch the 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show live tonight at 10 p.m. EST/PST on CBS.

Feathers and Hotties at the 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Let the pajama party begin. Plumage, perfectly toned (and tanned) bodies, sequins, lace, and ruffles, and, of course, Heidi Klum, all make up the holiday cocktail known as the Victoria's Secret fashion show. Victoria's Secret ignored economic uncertainty with a full-blown lingerie love affair at Miami's newest hot spot: The Fontainebleau hotel. When asked about this year's show, Ed Razek, VS’s president and chief marketing officer said, “Quite candidly, I think people are looking for a little escape right now." While many a celeb and pretty face turned out for not one, but two runway shows, there was more than enough escape to go around.The show will air on CBS on Dec. 3., but we've got the sparkly splendor for you now. With Usher performing, VS angels Selita Ebanks, Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, and Miranda Kerr strutted their hot stuff, as well as high fashion models like Lara Stone, Julia Stegner, and Behati Prinsloo. It was refreshing to see a couple classic faces like Carmen Kass and Noemie Lenoir, too. Whatever your fantasy, these girls wore an outfit to fulfill it. From bedazzled bras - Adriana Lima wore the the $5 million black diamond bra - to black lace bodysuits, cozy cuties, sci-fi getups, and dramatic wings, Victoria's Secret brought it full force.
