Glamazon Charlize was in San Francisco last night for the ONEXONE Foundation Gala. I missed her, but Pop talked charity with her - stayed tuned for that on Pop! She wore a perfectly appropriate philanthropic 'fit. Her printed Thakoon dress is made more serious with a black blazer with white cuffs and black tights. A Dior clutch and patent pumps polish her off. Hope you enjoyed your SF stopover, Charlize.

Dita Von Teese in Christian Dior Leather Dress: Love It or Hate It?

Oh, the things I would do to be invited to a Christian Dior runway show at Paris Fashion Week. Luckily, Dita Von Teese doesn't have to worry about such minor details. The Wonderbra ambassador attended the show looking like a vintage-meets-badass babe in a decadent low-cut Christian Dior black leather dress complete with black leather gloves. While most leather frocks are short and skimpy, Dita kept her ensemble proper with a longer hemline and regal accessories. I'm in lust with her structured leopard print bag and Christian Louboutin patent t-strap pumps. What are your thoughts?

2010 Spring Paris Fashion Week: Christian Dior

John Galliano started his Christian Dior Spring '10 show with a literal bang as gunshots and theatrical screaming laid out the framework for his film noir-inspired collection. Set against a gritty, warehouse scene, models with wavy tresses and red lips strutted down the runway in an array of sensual, lingerie-like silk gowns, camisoles, peek-a-boo lace dresses, silk shorts, and and beaded gowns. His ode to '40s Hollywood glamour continued with sharply tailored trench coats - a staple then, a staple today - tiered skirts, corsets, and I even spied a couple of ankle socks paired with sky-high sandals. So Fab.

To add a modern touch to his throwback collection, Galliano paired jackets with leather pants and leggings. Bows, beads, and vibrant sheer organza also injected an interesting flair while multicolor floral prints and gold lamé struck a chord for those in need of extra pizazz. It was all so dramatic. There's a reason I will never tire of Dior.

The boot of the season is no doubt the over-the-knee, while wicked platforms and cutesie pumps rule, too. Heels got a lot of play - curved, pin straight, studded, wooden. And textures were wild: brocade, woven leather, super stretch, rich suede, ruffled. It's time to experiment. Stare again at these John Galliano pom pom lace-ups? Well, I nevah!

Celeb Style: Angelina Jolie

Angelina got in major sexy mode last night at the Inglourious Basterds premiere in LA. Despite the fact that she stuck to her signature color, black, she knocked it out of the ballpark with her strapless leather Michael Kors dress. If you recall, Angelina's stylist Jen Rade once told me she puts the actress in black because it allows her strong features to shine. The strappy black Christian Dior sandals and red cocktail ring keep her chic, not biker-chick. But of course, her best accessory is Brad in an all-black (Tom Ford?) suit. Damn.

The sheer deep v-neck adds the perfect dose of sexy to her cute vibe, and I heart the Navajo-inspired tasseled belt. A simple black clutch and dazzling statement ring top off her getup – what say you?

2009 Fall Couture: Christian Dior

Glamorous, and a touch garish, Galliano leads Couture week with a provocative showing at the Dior headquarters. Innerwear played a major role in this film noir. Corsets, garters, hose, slips, camis, and brassieres all hung out exhibiting a high-class peekaboo show. Classic lingerie hues like nude, black, and cream whispered alongside bold red, pink, chartreuse, leopard (and zebra) print, lavender, and juicy tangerine. Dramatic toppers, ladylike bags and fine jewels added to the highly feminine Dior aesthetic. Skirts were a favorite - tulip, sheer, bubble, tiered - and sometimes even absent. Dior still caters to the lady, but this lady's inner exhibitionist has risen.

Fab Ad: Marion Cotillard Returns as Lady Dior For Fall '09

Lady Dior's Spring '09 ad with Marion Cotillard was so successful, the French actress is back for Fall. But this time around, New York City, not Paris, is the setting. Photographer Annie Leibovitz shot the cinematic image of Marion as "Lady Red," the mirror suggesting a double life. A second scene - Marion getting ready for her close-up as a femme fatale - is slated for later in the season. These ads will debut in August issues and will be plastered around Paris during Fashion Week in October. What are your thoughts on this first one?
