As New York Fashion Week draws to a close for us at FabSugar US, our friends from across the pond at FabSugar UK are gearing up for London Fashion Week, which starts today and goes until Sept. 22. Sure to be one of the highlights of LFW is the Burberry Prorsum show, which will be held in London instead of Milan, where it is typically held.

We couldn't be more amazed with Emma Watson's highly anticipated ads for Burberry. Shot at its new headquarters in London, photographer Mario Testino captured the budding stylista looking calm and cool all while wearing Burberry's iconic trench coats and leather handbags. “I wanted the images to represent both the rich history and the modernity of the Burberry brand, while at the same time reflecting a quiet beauty, timelessness and strength that is particularly significant today,” said Christopher Bailey, creative director of Burberry.

In celebration of its new NY headquarters, Burberry lit the cityscape with bright lights and a fashionable soiree filled with bubbly and a guest list PR people would kill for. There were a ton of looks to choose from, but I narrowed it down to five. Lily Donaldson showed off her stems in a white chiffon minidress; Alexa Chung styled her printed sheath with a belt and blazer; Leigh Lezark looked sexy stealth in a ruched eggplant frock and sharp heels; Claire Danes accessorized her gray dress with bold adornments; and Blake Lively looked cunning in a loose blazer and mini.

UPDATE: Jennifer Connelly has once again been chosen by Nicolas Ghesquière to represent Balenciaga. Meanwhile, Stefano Pilati picked Christy Turlington to star in his Yves Saint Laurent campaign.
I know, Spring has just begun, but the fashion world is always a step, or should I say a season, ahead of the masses.

You know the names — Lanvin, Burberry, Marni, Balmain — but do you know the designer behind them? While with some brands, like Prada, it's obvious who the creative director is, it's not so obvious for some other greats. New blood is appointed when the original founder has passed on or simply moved on.

I'm smitten by Burberry's Spring '09 campaign. Staying true to the label's roots, Creative Director Christopher Bailey enlisted Mario Testino to shoot an all-Brit clan looking stylishly rumpled in Burberry's garden delight offerings. The cast spotlights Lily Donaldson with fellow models Eden Clarke, Alexina Graham, and Richard Wyndham.

Three things to take away from Burberry Prorsum's Fall '08 collection: dramatic coats, statement necklaces and knit beanies. The talented Christopher Bailey yet again injected a kick of cool to the once-conservative brand, and also showed serious frocks and metallic pants. The overall vibe was sophisticated grunge, with moody hues like taupe, grey, and midnight blue.

You know you're talented when mega designers Vivienne Westwood and Burberry's Christopher Bailey are a fan of your work and you're being asked to consult for Givenchy and Cartier. Jewelry designer Hannah Martin has officially arrived.
Here's a little secret about Hannah's jewels: They're designed for men but have hordes of female followers.

Knots, quiet pastels, supple leather belts, legs, shoulder love, redone trenches, The Kooks — everyone is singing praise about Burberry's Spring collection, shown last night. If you have 15 minutes to kill, I suggest you watch the runway video. Seeing the frothy, yet sleek, creations semifront row, along with the fabulously British soundtrack, is a wonderful work distraction.
