Miranda Kerr Shows Leg and Gives a Sneak Peek at Her $2.5 Million Bra

Miranda Kerr hit the talk-show circuit in NYC today, first visiting Fox & Friends to show off the $2.5 million Victoria's Secret Fantasy Treasure Bra that she'll model in this year's VS fashion show. She introduced the jewel-encrusted garment, which is made of 3,400 gems like diamonds, pearls, citrines, and aquamarines and weighs in at 142 carats. Miranda then headed to Victoria's Secret's Lexington Avenue store, where she changed into a sexy pink Michael Kors gown for more photos with the lingerie. Miranda said of the bra's craftsmanship, "It's such a piece of artwork! It's absolutely stunning - it kind of feels a little mermaid-like - but I can't believe I'm wearing $2.5 million on my chest." Little Flynn didn't join her for today's round of press, nor did a currently-in-LA Orlando Bloom.

With Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Selma Blair, and Angela Lindvall watching from the front row, Gilles Mendel debuted a slouchy modern Spring 2012 collection that offered plenty for the red-carpet gal. The clothes had loose structure to them, thanks to soft colorblocking, asymmetric hems, and pleating, but Mendel kept the textures ultra soft. One of the best daytime looks included a fitted tee tucked into a long asymmetric cream skirt with a citrine-hued lining - it was simple, fresh, and youthful. Highlights were his evening wear, notably the end run of floaty gowns in soft colors, like the chalk and shell silk mousseline gown worn by Arizona Muse, with side panels that caused the fabric to fly away from the body. It was luxurious, but there was an ease to the dresses that seemed to fit right in with the young front row's chic style.

Trends: Colorblocking, pleating, cutaway dresses, asymmetric hems.
Colors: Iris, navy, chalk, citrine.
Key Piece: The floaty evening gowns were highlights, and from the separates, we loved the asymmetric-hemmed skirts and dresses.

Three Options For Re-Creating the Yellow Headboards From Season 9 of Project Runway

For season 9 of Project Runway, the designers are housed once again at the Atlas New York. The rooms this year are a bit more design-forward than they were in the past, though somewhat "safe," as the judges might say - standing out neither in a good nor a bad way. You can't argue with the yellow and gray color palette, though I'm dying for a little more pop of contrasting color somewhere in the room. The one element that I truly loved was the pattern-forward yellow headboards. Designer Anya Ayoung-Chee, shown seated on one of the beds, certainly surprised me in last night's premiere episode - I couldn't believe that she'd only been sewing for a few months. And even without sewing skills, she, or anyone else able to follow a few simple steps, such as this DIY upholstered headboard tutorial, could easily upholster her own bed to create something similar to the designers' rooms at the Atlas. I've found three fabrics that are close matches to the fabric used in the headboards from the show. Combine the fabric with a tutorial and a free afternoon, and you've got yourself a beautiful new headboard.
