Cheap & Chic: Color Your Legs

We've been seeing colored stems for a while now. But it's an opportune time for a refresher. Geri Halliwell, here at her book signing in the UK, shows us how to pull it off successfully. The key is to keep the rest of your outfit monochrome, preferably dark. That way your legs aren't upstaged - and you don't look like Punky Brewster.

It's an easy and inexpensive way to incorporate color into your Fall wardrobe. Take a cue from Geri - wear a short black skirt, a sleek coat, colored tights, and patent pumps. Beret and leather gloves optional, though encouraged!

How Would YOU Wear It? Paris Hilton

Based off of the show What NOT To Wear, I'm deeming this edition of How Would YOU Wear It? "How NOT To Wear Colored Tights."

I'm all for colorful tights but Paris killed her beautiful Nanette Lepore dress by pairing it with tacky pink tights. Was she trying to match with the pink carpet?

If I were Paris and standing next to my stylish sister (love the plaid and Chanel shoes, Nicky!), I would have burned those tights. Instead, I'd go bare-legged like little sis. The peep-toe pumps are a bit questionable as well, so I'd ditch those for something more festive.

Fabworthy: French Connection Colored Tights

Colorful tights are nothing new. But you have to be pretty bold to wear them and Halloween doesn't count! Sure, Gossip Girl Blair Waldorf wears black and white tights all the time, but colored tights are a whole different ballgame.

Take these French Connection purple tights, $15. They are the perfect way to liven up a moody Fall ensemble. I recommend pairing them with a heather grey dress.

Steven Alan Fall 2012

Our New York Fashion Week kickoff began this morning with Steven Alan. For Fall, the designer showed another batch of covetable casual-cum-cool offerings pairing his signature modern classic style with a bold touch of Mexican and folk influence. Full red skirts were paired with riding jackets and fedora hats and structured striped wool vests with slightly flared pants, and there was even a cute vintage-inspired tweed jumpsuit styled with a button-up blouse and cardigan. For a soft touch, the designer also supplied sweet peplum-embellished floral and striped dresses, plaid shirt dresses, and, for a little shine, black and gold brocade dresses and trousers. Beyoncé Reveals Hot Postbaby Body in Tight Dress One Month After Blue's Birth!

Beyoncé Knowles went out in NYC last night to watch her husband Jay-Z's performance at Carnegie Hall. It was Beyoncé's first public appearance since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter exactly one month ago. She wore a tight, rust-colored dress from the Alice by Temperley line, paired with Christian Louboutin heels, bright blue nail polish, and a huge sparkling ring in the same hue as her daughter's name for the occasion. Beyoncé released the first pictures on her website and was also photographed leaving the venue with a big smile on her face at the end of the evening.

Baby Blue stayed home, but her presence was noted while Jay was onstage - he performed his track "Glory," which features her infant noises from when she was only 1-day-old. Afterwards, Jay noted on stage that he wasn't sure he was going to make it through the song without getting emotional. Beyoncé was a few minutes behind Jay-Z as they headed off to celebrate his show at his newly reopened 40/40 Club. As she headed inside, Beyoncé spoke about Jay-Z's return to the stage, saying, "It was amazing."

I don't usually get very fancy with my yoga clothes. A fitted tank with a built-in sports bra is my usual go-to top. It keeps my girls covered and in place, and the fitted body stays put when I go upside down. But some days ~~you ate too many cookies~~ you just don't feel like wearing something tight. You could sport a loose shirt but it doesn't offer the most flattering look, and as soon as you start moving, it can end up exposing your belly even more than a tight tank. Madewell's Cheerful Spring Collection Makes Us Crave Warm-Weather Days

Shoe Review: Mizuno Wave Rider 15

I'm a Mizuno fan - the company's roster of running shoes has something for every serious runner (or any type of runner who's serious about getting the right gear). So I was happy to test out the Wave Rider 15 ($115), the newest model in a line of shoes that has proven to be one of Mizuno's most popular since it was introduced 15 years ago.

I was a little wary about trying the Wave Riders, however, since the shoes are built for neutral runners and not those who over- or underpronate (I usually buy shoes for overpronators). And while the Wave Rider has enjoyed immense popularity, the Wave Rider 15s were my first encounter with the style, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

As soon as I unboxed the ruby red sneakers, though, my reservations started disappearing. My first thoughts were that even though they look substantial, they felt incredibly lightweight. The sole is relatively thick, but it doesn't interfere with the responsiveness of the shoe as you run. In fact, as I ran I felt more connected with the ground than I thought I would.
