Let's play first lady of France dressup. Carla looks every bit the part after a visit to the Met in New York - Bentley in tow. I wish I could browse endless walls of art wearing an origami folded neck skirt suit, Tod's flats, and a perfect little Dior bag. Carla proves you can still look buttoned-up and sophisticated in flats (sigh). This is a great work or interview look so pay attention to this first lady.

BCBG Runway Fall 2012

An architectural aesthetic, specifically Bauhaus style, rules for BCBG's Fall 2012 collection. Structure manifested itself via colorblocking, but it was done on fluid silk chiffon shift dresses, so the effect was a pretty blend of strong forms on flowy silhouettes. The geometric shapes created by bold color combos - black and orange, merlot and blush - were intensified with textural plays like sheer insets and clever pleating that made dresses look magically fluid and sharp at the same time. To counter the collection's emphasis on lightweight materials like silk and chiffon, it also sent cozy outerwear down the runway - we have mixed emotions on the return of gorilla-armed coats, but the multicolor fur vests and canvas and leather trenches were artful choices for next season. The minimalist approach to geometric forms and bold color combinations, together with the flowy silhouettes, make for clothes that are ideal to wear to a gallery opening.

Trends: Colorblocking, fur, architectural detail, Bauhaus.
Colors: Merlot, blush, camel, cream, navy, coral, teal.
Key Piece: The canvas and leather trench coat; the super-cool pleated dresses with tulle inserts.

Bikini-clad Kourtney Kardashian, boyfriend Scott Disick, and son Mason escaped their hectic schedules in LA for a few days and headed south of the border to Mexico last month for a family vacation. Scott and Kourtney turned up the PDA on a romantic stroll and spent a fun afternoon on the beach with Mason playing on the sand.

Meet Alicia Sacramone, Olympic Beauty

The 2012 London Olympics kick off on July 27, but the US team members are already in game mode. We caught up with gymnast Alicia Sacramone, Team USA's vault expert, to find out what it's like to be a professional gymnast day to day. "A lot of people think we’re younger than we are because we’re in spandex and we’re little," Alicia says. "So all the time people are like, 'How old are you? Are you 14, 15?' And I’m like, 'I’m 24.'"

When it comes to the makeup gymnasts are known for, the shades aren't a spur-of-the-moment decision, and not every beauty product is welcome. "We’re not allowed to have colored nail polish when we’re competing," Alicia told us. As for color palettes, "It’s kind of a process," she admits. "You pick out your leotard and your warm-up suit a couple months in advance. Then I base my makeup off that." Typically, the P&G Beauty spokes-athlete can be seen wearing the brand's makeup, especially their lip gloss and stain, on the mat. "I try to have my eye shadows matching my leotard," Alicia adds. "That's one of the big things."

Award season saw another glamorous night with the Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA this evening. Stars from both the big and small screens brought even more great looks with plenty of ladies stepping out in neutrals. Presenter Zoe Saldana glowed in a white Givenchy Couture gown straight from the Paris runways while Bridesmaids' Kristen Wiig chose a Balenciaga halter. Viola Davis, who won best actress and best picture for The Help, got gorgeous in a strapless Marchesa and her winning costar Octavia Spencer donned Tadashi Shoji. The Good Wife's Julianna Margulies wore a custom beaded Calvin Klein Collection as she arrived on the arm of her husband Keith Lieberthal.

There were a few fun pops of color this evening, including a group that matched the carpet in red. Best actress nominee Michelle Williams looked sweet in a lace Valentino gown and Lanvin clutch and Kyra Sedgwick showed skin in a cutout Pucci that displayed her rib tattoo of her family's initials. Modern Family's Sofia Vergara continued her sexy streak in a strapless pink Marchesa dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels, which were front and center when she took the stage with her costars to accept the best TV comedy ensemble statue. Emily Blunt got bright in a green Oscar de la Renta next to husband John Krasinski, and The Help's Jessica Chastain went with a bold blue Calvin Klein.

Angelina Jolie led the pack of black looks in a slinky Jenny Packham gown and Ashlee Simpson followed suit in a sequin number by the same designer when she arrived with boyfriend and Boardwalk Empire nominee Vincent Piazza. Emma Stone mixed things up with a short McQueen and 30 Rock's Tina Fey went strapless in Versace. Melissa McCarthy, who was nominated for Bridesmaids, joined the dark-hued dresses in navy Badgley Mischka. Couture Fashion Week: Armani Privé

If you glimpsed Giorgio Armani's Spring Couture, you might just have one first thought: he's going green - literally. Initial reactions aside, the palette gives way to a range of vibrant hues that encompass every shade of green. But if you lose yourself in the color, you lose sight of the whole collection, how it marries both the sporty, streamlined menswear in shinning gray tones and the decadent eveningwear that's made Armani a favorite dresser among the Hollywood crowd. The collection doesn't cater definitively to either persona; it gives us both the modern suiting in a glossy, slick finish, then carries over that same contemporary confidence topping a sequined floor-length gown with a jacket tossed effortlessly across the shoulders.

Karl Lagerfeld put together an in-flight crew of the chicest kind. His Spring '12 Couture collection modernized and glamorized vintage flight attendant uniforms, outfitting his models in the same knee-length skirt suits and sheaths, albeit with Karl's eye for embellishment and detail. He quite literally took us to the skies (complete with gravity-defying hair!), drawing inspiration not only from the structure and silhouettes, but also using an entire palette of blue, ranging from soft powder blue frocks to decadent midnight blue sequined gowns. He marries the intricacy of paillette-dotted gowns, proportional play, and the most delicate of drop earrings with practicality - no over-the-top footwear and a form of the label's shifts and tweeds still intact. He speaks to the whimsy without compromising what the Chanel client wants - classics, wearability.

Trends: Sequins, ladylike, sheer, volume, and cutout shoulders.
