She's always a step ahead of us - at least on the runway. Fashion designer Cynthia Steffe is used to the cameras snapping away at her collections, but she recently let the shutterbugs from Country Living into her home away from home in the Catskills of New York. Not surprisingly, the farmhouse turned chic cottage is a fabulous mixture of antique finds with cozy comforts. It's got me itching to get to the nearest flea market. Cynthia Steffe has given us more reasons to love its feminine offerings. For Fall '10, creative director Shaun Kearney dreamed up a collection of buttery soft leather, tweed, and delicate silk. Taking on a feminine aviation-inspired theme, he created shift dresses, flirty skirts, and bombers reminiscent of a modern day Amelia Earhart. Thigh-high tights, tweed, and wool also lent a sweet school-girl vibe. For all the party girls, body-con printed minidresses - something for everyone. Trend Alert: Twisted Sister

I think I've died and gone to fashion heaven. OK, that might be a little dramatic, but I am utterly in love with this twisted sister. At first glance, these intricate embellishments might look like ruching, but look closer; intricate folds and knots are tied and twisted to pure perfection. In fact, Victoria Beckham was recently spotted in Milan donning my dream Burberry trench. Speaking of heaven - and Burberry - when I go, I'm taking this beauteous Burberry Fine Chiffon Skirt ($1,495) with me . . .

Trend Alert: Totally Bare-Faced at Fashion Week

No visible makeup is officially a makeup trend: at Rachel Comey, BCBG, and Cynthia Steffe, the models have all gone seemingly bare. In fact, Lisa Butler, the makeup artist at the BCBG show, said, "It’s all about the individual. The look is finished, but not made up." She only used mascara, mineral foundation, and lip conditioner. It's simple but very pretty. What do you think? Will you be trying this out in the spring?

Cynthia Steffe Makes Sophisticated Changes

Ever since designer Cynthia Steffe left her namesake brand in December 2006, the label has been going through an identity crisis. But today, after a full year on the job, creative director and executive vice president of design Shaun Kearney has taken the brand in a sophisticated direction. "The contemporary market as a whole is much more sophisticated and edgy than it once was," said Kearney. "For this collection we worked to play with the hard and soft elements."

What's more, there are plans to expand Cynthia Steffe globally and to branch out into new product categories. Kearney has also changed the label's logo - once orange and white - to black with the Cynthia Steffe logo printed in metallic gold. There have also been early conversations about an e-commerce site, as well as freestanding stores. Exciting changes, can't wait!

Trend Alert: Two Toned

Sadly, not all of us can pull off this Armani Prive tonal black strapless gown. But all can be inspired by its two toned appeal. A bit Jekyll, and a bit Hyde, these pieces deliver some style surrealism. The effect spans clothes and accessories, so choose to be dramatic, be Klum.

The adventurer in me has been eyeing this Marc by Marc Jacobs "Twinsie" Cardigan ($268). Not only am I a cardigan collector, I am also crushing on anything gray. This is not your typical cardi; two toned, here I come!
