There's something intriguing about a black jacket that has a hint of shine, like this DKNY Embellished Trim Wool Jacket ($504). It's totally classy and sassy at the same time - a modern Coco Chanel would wear it well. This Forever 21 Jewel Trim Tweed Jacket ($35) has the class and the sass, but not the high price tag. The square-shaped jewels are a bit bigger than the DKNY version, but they provide the perfect sparkle. The cropped sleeves are also fresh. Since the silhouette is on the classier side, I would make it cooler with a pair of lightwash jeans.

Many models are forming lineups these days - luckily, not for the police, but rather for Fall's hottest ad campaigns. I've been noticing many lineup-style ads lately, and I quite like them because they cut out the frills and bring us face to face with the matter at hand: the creations. That, and the industry's most gorgeous models. DKNY's Fall '09 lineup - starring Bette Franken, Behati Prinsloo, Daiane Conterato, Anna Gushina, and more - is structured, with the girls standing sturdy, shoulder to shoulder. Jones New York's lineup with Anja Rubik, Caroline Trentini, Isabeli Fontana, and Liya Kebede is more friendly and lively. Both showcase the clothes flawlessly, but which ad lineup wins?

We've been advocating biker shorties for a while now. What can I say - I love the '90s. When I spied lots of them at New York Fashion Week my heart palpitated with excitement. Before you start judging, let me point out the way DKNY wore them: higher, subtle, colorful styles paired unexpectantly under tailored shorts and sleek jumpers. Trend Alert: The Cold Shoulder

Back in June, when I met Donna Karan, she did a lot of shoulder talk. Her gorgeous Fall collection consisted of two shoulder opposites: the structured shoulder and the cold shoulder. We've been seeing a lot of shoulder love thanks to celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Rihanna and due to designers Balmain and Marc Jacobs. And while superstars looks awesome in the regurgitated '80s silhouette, in the real world, it's a tad unwearable. That's where the cold shoulder comes in. Equal parts sexy and breezy, instead of padding those shoulders, let them break free.
