Trend Alert: Gray Suede Shoes

No regrets. When I purchased a pair of Derek Lam gray suede sandals on sale at Shopbop last Summer, not only did I pat myself on the back for finding such a great deal, but I wore them with vigor. They magically matched every outfit, and were more interesting than black shoes. They felt very . . . modern.

And that's exactly how Dasha Zhukova looks. Her printed ivory and black dress is thoroughly baby-bump friendly, a little black jacket is smart, and what appears to be a Chanel bag is perfection. But it's her crisscross gray suede platform pumps that remind us she's a fashion editor. They give her a slight edge and added texture.

If you're seeking one worthy shoe investment for Fall, consider a pair of gray suede shoes.

Russian social and this week's Fab favorite, Dasha Zhukova, is going to have to battle it out with Lindsay Lohan for the Alexander Wang throne. She wore her Alexander Wang Suede and Leather Motorcycle Jacket ($1,495) to an art event in Moscow recently. As usual, she kept herself more refined, less grungy. Lindsay, on the other hand, wore her Wang jacket in her signature disheveled manner. Completely different flavors, who wore it better?

The fashion world has yet to tire of the cool black leather jacket. See Kova & T founder and new Pop magazine editor Dasha Zhukova, next to Mr. Louboutin himself. At the Fetish by Christian Louboutin and David Lynch Exhibition in the Fabcon's home country of Russia, the sexy brunette worked a buttery leather jacket and a confectionery Rodarte frock. She gained extra style mileage with a graphic black and white clutch and silver Louboutin stilettos. No-fuss hair and pouty pink lips were perfect beauty accompaniments. The lilac and white wrapped and cut-out Rodarte dress is stunning in itself, but this stylemaster made it her own.

Fabcon: Dasha Zhukova

I first took notice of Russian Dasha Zhukova when she attended a Louis Vuitton and Richard Prince dinner in a white mini dress topped with a Chanel cropped denim jacket. Who's that girl? Upon further research, I discovered that she's codesigner of the brand Kova & T.

Since she's usually attending fancy fetes, you'll often find Dasha in a pretty dress. Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Valentino - these are just some of the designers she prefers. Even when she's not dolled up, the 27-year-old still looks put together in anything from shiny leggings to men's button-down shirts, leather jackets, blazers, and Kova & T pieces. Bottom line is she exudes that signature Russian sophistication with a dash of decadent Dasha.

Chanel's Barn Bonanza!

Karl does country. It's impossible to guess Karl's next move. And who would have thought it would be to the barn? His Spring collection, replete with stars and spectacles, lightened the mood. The clothes were frilly, feminine, and colorful, adorned with thematic accessories like Chanel clogs, flowers in the hair, and drippy jewels. Prince was there - random - and so were Chanel devotees Rihanna, Claudia Schiffer, Dasha Zhukova, and Clemence Poesy. With Karl playing a part, and Lily Allen serenading, it looked like a thrilling fashion hoedown.

If I could attend one Summer soiree it would be the fabulous Serpentine Gallery's Summer party. It's not the biggest or the most star-studded, but it's a pretty cool spread and diverse, stylish crowd. Where else do Dasha Zhukova and Jamiroquoi's Jay Kay mingle? It looked like a lovely day in Kensington Gardens, and oh look - here's best fashion buds Thandie and Matthew Williamson. Curious to see inside the Serpentine? Step right up.

Imagine being the daughter of the owner of Harrods department store. Camilla Al-Fayed doesn't have to imagine it; she is it. And yes, she's the half-sister of the late Dodi Al-Fayed, Princess Diana's boyfriend.

The Egyptian beauty is close friends with another gorgeous socialite, Dasha Zhukova, and can be seen with her at all major fashion soirees. From the look of her luxe outfits, one of her favorite colors is black. Can you blame her? The 24-year-old also occasionally likes to throw in pops of bright colors like cobalt and hot pink. Having money often means always wearing designer, but that's not why Camilla stands out. She's always polished, head to toe, and knows how to wear pieces that flatter her womanly figure. Plus, among a sea of blond socialites, it's refreshing to see a brunette beauty.
